Carolyn L. Simmons. 67

Carolyn Lee Simmons, 67, of Harrisonburg, VA, died Friday, March 7, 2008, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.

Ms. Simmons was born March 26, 1940, in Upper Tract and was a daughter of the late Forrest Roscoe and Anna Lee Kile Simmons.

She worked for Peoples Life Insurance Company for over 40 years and later worked at James Madison University. She sold Avon products and was a member of the Pilot Club of Harrisonburg and the Shekhinah Tabernacle.

She is survived by a sister, Treva Orebaugh, of Timberville, VA; a brother, William R. Simmons, of Timberville, VA; two nieces and one nephew.

The Revs. Sam Sponaugle and Hiji Yu conducted the funeral  Tuesday at McMullen Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, VA. Burial followed at Rader Cemetery.

Harold E. Losh, 63

Harold "Bud" Edwin Losh, 63 , of Verona, VA, died SAturday,k March 8, 2008, at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, VA. 

 Mr. Losh was born Sept. 27, 1944, in Franklin and was the son of the late Ernest Clay and Elva Jane Puffenbarger Losh.  

He attended the schools in West Virginia  and lived the early part of his life in Pendleton County and the majority of his life in the Verona area.  He was employed with Cline Excavating.  He attended the Crossroads Baptist Church and Healing Waters Ministry. 

His wife, Gloria Jean Losh, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Kenny E. Losh of Waynesboro, VA; two daughters, Amie E. White of Staunton, VA, and Angie K. Kennedy of Verona, VA; a brother Charles Dale Losh of Iowa; two sisters, Mary Losh of Millboro, VA, and Shirley Nelson of Lake Butler, FL; 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.  

The Rev. Ed Hook will conduct the funeral today at 11 a.m. at LIndsey Funeral Home in Weyers Cave, VA.  Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the Losh family cemetery in Sugar Grove.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. 

Alfreda Kesner, 43

Alfreda Lee "Pete" Kesner, 43, of Petersburg, died Sunday, March 9, at her home.

She was born Jan. 9, 1965, in Petersburg and was the daughter of Alfred H. Kesner and Darlene M. (Nesselrodte) Kesner of Petersburg. 

She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1983 and previously worked fro American Woodmark Corp in Moorefield. 

She was a Seventh-Day Adventist by faith. 

Surrviving are first ex-husband, Timothy A. Wimer of Brandywine; second ex-husband, Joshua Casto of Petersburg; one son, David A. Wimer of Petersburg; one sister, Janice M. Clark and brother-in-law, Jonathan Clark of Upper Tract; one adopted sister, Elizabeth Freeman of Moorefield; numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins and adopted sons and daughters.

She was preceded in death by both grandmothers, Beatrice V. (Veach) Nesselrodte and Pearlie Mae (Riggleman) Kesner; one grandfather, Seymour H. Kesner; and her best friend, Tina L. Moore.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, with Pastor John Ott officiating. Burial was in the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville.
