Roger G. Smith, 61, of 5300 Whirlwind Cove Drive, Hilliard, Ohio, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus, OH, after a brief illness.

Born December 1, 1942, in Romney, he was the son of the late Mervin L. and Bessie M. Smith of Keymont.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda (Kidwell) Smith in July of 1999.

He is survived by one daughter, Robin Munsey whom he resided with, and two granddaughters Holli and Jordyn Munsey, three brothers, Mervin L. Smith and wife Carol of Elk Garden, W.Va., Walter Smith and wife Tonya of Leon,WV, and James R. Smith and wife Donna of New Creek, six sisters, Lavonna and husband Ed Purinton of Danville, MD, Neda and husband Tom Jordan of Hilliard, OH, Jenny and husband Gary Pitsenbarger of Fort Seybert, W.Va., Donna and husband Rick Klosterman of Sulphur, LA, Joyce and husband John Thomas of New Creek, Susan and husband Willard Riggleman of Keymont: and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Friends were received at the Jerry Spiers Funeral Home on Sunday, January 25.

Burial was Monday, Jan. 27 in Alton Cemetery Alton, OH. Services were conducted by the Reverend Paul Moore.  

Audrey Mae Frank

Audrey Mae Frank, 65, of Circleville, and formerly of Freehold, NJ, ided Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at her home. 

Mrs. Frank was born Sept. 7, 1938, in Clifton, NJ, and was the daughter of Violet Virginia Weiderman Gilio of Pottsville, PA, and the late Rudolph Eugene Gilio. 

She was an accountant and tax preparer with Riggleman and Smith, P.A., in Petersburg.  She as a member of the Baptist Church. 

She married Ernest Frank, Jr., who survives. 

Also surviving are a daughter, Laura Mae Huffman of Onego; three sons, Ernest Frank, III, of Morgantown, William Harry "Bill" Frank of Harrisonburg, VA, an dPatrick Allen Frank of Bridgewater, VA; a sister, Joan Wertz of Pottsville, PA; a brother, Douglas Alan Gilio of Milton, NJ; and eight grandchildren.

the Rev. Mar McAllister and Harold Mullenax conducted a memorial service 5 p.m. Monday at the North Fork Baptist Church in Riverton.  Burial was in the Ernest Frank family cemetery in Circleville.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the North Fork Rescue Squad.

Gladys F. Smith.

Gladys F. Smith, 65, of RD1 Shamokin, PA, for the past two years and formerly of Franklin, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 28, 2004, at Shamokin Area Hospital.  She was in ailing health for over a year. 

Mrs. Smith was born april 26, 1938, in Harrisburg, PA, a daughter of the late Lester L. Howerter, and Arlene K. (Long) Howerter, who survives in Shamokin, PA. 

On Jan. 4, 1958, she married Kenneth G. Smith, who survives.  They were married in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hunter Station, PA.

Mrs. Smith was a 1956 graduate of Treverton High School  She was a member of the CEOS Home Extension Program in Franklin and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Himmel's Lutheran Church, Rebuck, PA, and also attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hunter Station, PA, and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Deer Run.

Surviving in addition to her mother and husband, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Colleen Smith of Baden, PA, and Wayne and Terri Smith of Inwood; one daughter Lynn Self of Southaven, MS; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Lorene Snyder, Joyce Howerter and Marilyn Lubold, all of RD1 Shamokin, PA; one brother, Lester M. Howerter of RD, Millersburg, PA; nieces and nephews.   

Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hunter Station, PA, with the Rev. Glen B. Keidel, Jr. officiating.  Burial was in Himmel's Lutheran Cemetery, Rebuck, PA.  Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Robert G. Faust Jr. Funeral Home, Treverton, PA.

Harvey C. Nicholson

The Reverend Harvey Clarence Nicholson, 76, of Brandywine, and formerly of Harrisonburg, VA, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at his home.  

Dr. Nicholson was born June 15, 1927, in Wheeling and was a son of the late Harvey Crtis Nicholson and Francis Tusten Nicholson. 

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.  He graduated from West Alexander (PA) High School, Eastern Nazerene College in Quincy, MA, and Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. 

Rev. Nicholson was a clergyman for 45 years, serving churches in Mount Morris, PA, Dayton, PA, Stanardsville, VA, Staunton, VA, Cincinnati, OH, Mount Clinton, VA, the Providence United Methodist (UM) Church in Patrick Springs, VA, Collinsville, VA, the South Fork Charge, Riverside UM Church in Brandywine, Francis Asbury UM Church in Sugar Grove, Fairview Bethel UM Church in Fort Seybert, and Zion UM Church in Milam.  He was a member of the Virginia UM Church Conference.  

Surviving are his wife, Irma Carter Nicholson; two daughters, Cheryl Batavia of coconut Creek, FL, and Yolanda Nicholson of Fairfax, VA; a stepdaughter, Sandra Malcolm of Leander, TX; a son , Curt Nicholson of Manheim, PA; a stepson, Michael Nelson of Rocky Mount, VA; a brother, Richard Nicholson of Paden city; nine grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

The Revs. Gale Wetzel and Roy Hedrick conducted the funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Clinton United Methodist Church.  Burial was at Mount Horeb United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hinton, VA.  A memorial service was held 6 p.m. Wednesday at Riverside UM Church in Brandywine.

Nellie V. Kimble, 95

Nellie V. Judy Kimble, 95, of Springfield, OH, and formerly of Petersburg, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Eaglewood Care Center.

Mrs. Kimble was born Feb. 17, 1908, in Kline and was the daughter of the late John Gipton and Sarah J. Kesler Judy. 

She graduated from St. John's Academy in Petersburg and was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church in Springfield, OH. 

Her husband, Isan Kimble preceded her in death Nov. 23, 1995. 

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. 

The Rev. Laurie B. Davis conducted the funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakland Presbyterian Church.  Burial followed at Ferncliff Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Jackson Lytle & Ingling Williams Funeral Hoome, North Limestone, St., Springfield, OH.     

Grant Propst 

Grant Propst, 91, of Franklin, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.

Mr. Propst was born Nov. 18, 1912, in Cave and was the son of the late William Robert Propst and Abbie Sudie Rexrode Propst. 

He was a well driller, a woodsman and had been a fireman on riverboats in Pittsburgh, PA, on the Ohio and Monongahela rivers.  He was employed at Max Ruddle Saw Mill and Mullenax Lumber Company.  He owned and operated Thorn Springs Restaurant, known as Grants, since 1957.

 Mr. Propst was a member of Totten chapel United Methodist church. 

He is survived by Edna Jane Harper of Franklin; a daughter Nila Bland of Brandywine; two sons, Barry Propst of Franklin and Lanny Propst of Grayson, KY; two sisters, Shirley Propst, of Franklin and Beulah Botkin of McDowell, VA; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Propst and Dewey Frank; two sisters, Audrey Propst and Bonnie Moyers; and one nephew, Carl Propst. 

The Rev. David Fisher conducted the funeral 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin.  Burial was at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.

Louella Wimer, 85

Louella Wimer, 85, of Nella's Nursing Home in Crystal Spring and formerly of Cherry Grove, died Wednesay, Jan. 28, 2004, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. 

Mrs. Wimer was born July 18, 1918, in Onego and was the daughter of the late Clarence Vance and Nellie Simmons Vance. 

She was a homemaker. 

She was married to Ocie Lee Wimer, who preceded her in death Feb. 200, 2000. 

Patricia Rexrode, 62

Patricia Ann Martin Rexrode, 62, of 1349 Whitehill Road, Stuarts Draft, VA, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, in DeLand, FL. 

Mrs. Rexrode was born Aug. 27, 1941, in Waynesboro, VA, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Anabelle Pattillo Martin. 

She attended Calvary United Methodist Church and was employed as a secretary at Augusta Medical Center.  She was full of energy and never met a stranger.

Wyatt S. Burns, 14-month-old infant

Wyatt Samuel David Burns, 14 month-old-infant son of Cyrus Samuel Burns, III, and Vanessa Kay Lam Burns of 217 Old Parkersburg Turnpike of Swoope, VA, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at the Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, VA. 

He was born Nov. 27, 2002, in Harrisonburg, VA. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Brooklyn Burns; his grandparents, Erwin N. Lam, Jr. of Frnaklin, Diane K. Hizer of Mount Solon, VA, Cyrus Samuel Burns, II of Covington, VA, and Hilda Hensley of Churchville, VA; and his great-grandparents, Hunter and Alice Fauber of Fort Defiance, VA, Erwin and Nancy Lam of Harrisonburg, VA, Claude and Lucille Burns and Frances Rhea, all of Millboro, VA. 

A private burial was held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant View Lutheran Church in Staunton, VA.
