Nola Mae Teter White
Nola Mae Teter White, 86, of Elkins departed this life early Thursday morning. Jan. 27, 2011, at Talbott’s
Personal Care Home in Belington.She was born Saturday, Sept. 6, 1924, at Red Creek, a daughter of the late William Olie Teter and Martha Ellen
Wimer Teter.She attended the schools of Tucker County and had worked for the Elkins Inter-Mountain newspaper for 15
years. She was a member of the Degree of Honor Lodge #21, the Delphia Rebekah Lodge #62, the H. W. Daniel’s Unit #29, American Legion Auxiliary, the 8 @ 40 of the Legion, the Elkins Randolph County Senior Center, the Randolph County Blood Bank, the Tygart’s Valley Gasco Club and the First United Methodist Church where she was active in the N. I. Hall Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women Circle #3.On Feb. 24, 1946, at Elkins, she was married to Edward L. White, who preceded her in death, June 4, 1986.
Surviving are one daughter, Priscilla Ellen Stover of New Orleans, LA; six nieces and three nephews, including
nephew, Terry Teter and wife, Kathy of Circleville, one brother, Jack L. Teter of Franklin; five grandchildren,Angela, William C., Paul B. And James L. Acord and Kimberly Stover, three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Keith Edward White and infant Kevin Lee White; three brothers;
and four sisters.Final rites were conducted Tuesday at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins with Rev. Dr. Basil A. Hensley
officiating. Interment followed at the Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins.Condolences may be expressed to the family at

Gae Nell Dice, 91, of Pendleton Manor and formerly of Timber Ridge (Riverton) passed away on Jan. 27, 2011,
at Pendleton Manor.She was born on Dec. 25, 1919, at Simoda and was the daughter of the late Harman and Vernie Mallow.
She was a life-long homemaker and farmer. She loved to provide clothing and preserve food for her family by
gardening, canning, sewing and tending the family farm with her husband. She was a Protestant by faith.On Sept. 25, 1940, she married Ray Dice, who preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1998.
Mrs. Dice was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth H. Dice and wife, Carol of Romney; two daughters, Mrs. Charles ( Betty)
Goldizen of Maysville and Mrs. Eugene (Norma) Auville of Riverton; 10 grandchildren, Cynthia Berg, Tammy Miller, Kenny Dice, Greg Dice, Michael Goldizen, Bradley Goldizen, Deryl Dice, Matthew Auville, Amy Nelson and Denna Glover; 22 great-grandchildren, Adam Berg, Cassie Berg, Cecily Goldizen, Samantha Goldizen, Kristopher Auville, Mattia Auville, Caroline Auville, Alan Dice, Brook Dice, Nichole Dice, Erin Dice, Morgan Dice, Caroline Glover, Emily Glover, Tabitha Goldizen, Gabrielle Goldizen, Kaitlyn Dice, Jackson Dice, Alivia Dice, Mikayla Nelson, BJ Nelson and Jessica Goldizen and one great-great -granddaughter, Taylor Dice, and one step-great-grandchild, Victoria Humphries.She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roy Mallow.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg with Rev. Earl Bible officiating.
Interment was in the Mallow Cemetery, Timber Ridge (Riverton).

Gary Brown Vandevender, 62, of Franklin passed away, Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at Pendleton Manor, Franklin.
He was born Nov. 14, 1948, at Cave, a son of the late Ira Brown and Esther Virginia (Arbogast) Vandevender.
Mr. Vandevender served in the US Army and was a logger.
Surviving are a sister, Patricia Sipe and husband, Jesse of Grottoes, VA; a brother, John Vandevender and wife,
Ruth Ann of Smoot; five nieces, Amy Miller, Sara Sipe, Anna, Madeline and Emily Vandevender; and a greatnephew, Brett Miller.He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Shirley Ann Vandevender.
A funeral service was conducted Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell, VA, with the Rev. Andre

Hazel L. (White) Vandevender, 72, of Albion, MI, passed away Dec. 21, 2010, at her home.
Formerly of Riverton, she was born May 14, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Jesse and Louise White.
On April 21, 1960, she married Junior Grant Vandevender who preceded her in death in 2005.
Mrs. Vandevender attended Circleville schools.She worked for the Albion Public Safety, A.I.M. and at the Erie Street Adult Foster Care as a nurses aide. She
was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a deacon where she was active in hundreds of Funeral dinners.Surviving are a son, Paul Bennett, Jr., of Riverton; a daughter, Debbie Vandevender of Albion, MI; three
granddaughters, Ashley and Jessica of Albion, MI, and Tammy of Fairmont; one great-granddaughter of Fairmont; and one sister, Mable Bennett of Bartow; and several cousins.She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Vandevender, her grandparents; and one brother-in-law.
Funeral services were held Dec. 27, 2010, at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, Albion, MI, with Rev. John
Sterner officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery, Albion, MI.A memorial fund has been established in her memory and may be sent to Debbie Vandevender, 305 S. Monroe,
St., Albion, MI 49224.Kenneth Melvin Miller
Kenneth Melvin Miller, 80, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, after a long and courageous
battle with cancer.He was born in Annapolis, MD, on Feb 22, 1930, the son of the late George Dewey and Ethel Burns Miller.
Mr. Miller was a 1947 graduate of Annapolis High School in Annapolis, MD.
In 1948, he joined the United States Navy reserves, entered active service in 1950 and was honorably discharged
in 1951. He and his family moved to Brandywine in 1968, where he began working as an electrician in the Public Works Department at the Sugar Grove Naval Base. He retired in 1994 as facilities manager.Mr. Miller was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church in Brandywine. He became an amateur ham
radio operator (KSKMM) in 1976, and he and his fellow “hams” assisted with communication during the flood of 1985.He was a jack-of-all trades and could fix anything and everything. He taught many youngsters on amateur ham
radio operations. He made the Treasure Mountain Festival badges for 17 years and also designed and made badges for many other organizations. He was always willing to help someone.On Aug. 15, 1953, he married Rose Marie McPherson, who survives in Brandywine. They enjoyed 57 glorious
years together.Also surviving are one son, Steven K. Miller and wife, Renea of Battle Ground, WA; four daughters, Lynn M.
Crites of Petersburg, Nola J. Avey of Sugar Grove, Elise M. White of Brandywine and Cynthia K. Huston and husband, Ed of Grottoes, VA; ten grandchilden, Kevin Avey, Michael Crites II, Robert Avey, Kristi Carle, Austin Miller, Daniel Drites, David Crites, Philip White, Tiffany Miller and Jonathan Miller; four greatgrandchildren, Alek Avey, Jacob Avey, William Miller and Olivia Carle.He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Reginald Joyce Miller and George Wilbur Miller.
Funeral services were held Monday at the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev. Cindy
Skinner and Tommy McPherson officiating. Interment was in Pine Hill Cemetery, Brandywine with military graveside services conducted by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.Memorials may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church, Hahn Cancer Center at Rockingham Memorial
