John Franklin May, 56, of Fort Seybert died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.

Mr. May was born Feb. 9, 1951, in Harrisonburg, VA, and was the son of Durwood Earl May and Betty Jane Conrad May of Fort Seybert.

He graduated from Franklin High School in 1969 and attended Shepherd College for two years. He was a member of Fairview Bethel United Methodist Church and attended Bethlehem Church of the Brethren. He worked at Hanover Shoe Company for over 25 years and at Sugar Grove Navy Base.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Mary Beth May of Fort Seybert.

The Rev. Mark James and Pastor Richard Lintz conducted the funeral Saturday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Fort Seybert.

Michael Edward Keplinger, 35, of Elkton, MD, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Keplinger was born Oct. 27, 1972, in Wilmington, DE, and was a son of Jeannie Keplinger of Elkton, MD, and the late Danny E. Atwell.

He was a carpenter for Union Local 626. He was a member of Crossroads Bible Church, formerly Baptist Bible Church in Elkton, MD. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting, four wheeling and riding his motorcycle.

His wife of 12 years, Nicole Keplinger, survives.

Surviving in addition to his mother and wife, are three children, Zachary Pierson, Kaitlyn Keplinger and Emily Rose Hardy, all of Elkton, MD; two stepchildren, Alexandria Pinder and Victoria Handy, both of Elkton, MD; a sister, Tina Atwell of Newark, DE; two brothers, Danny Atwell Jr. of Elkton, MD and Joey Atwell of Newark, DE; maternal grandfather, Fred Keplinger of Elkton, MD; and several aunts, uncles,  nieces, nephews and cousins.

Also preceding him in death were his maternal grandmother, Betty J. Keplinger; and paternal grandparents, Hazel and Charles Atwell.

The funeral was held Friday at Crossroads Bible Church, Elkton, MD. Burial was in Kline Cemetery in Franklin on Saturday.

Timothy Arnold Siron, 42, of Monterey, VA, died Friday, January 18, 2008, at Bath Community Hospital, Hot Springs, VA.

He was born Oct. 22, 1965, in Staunton, VA, a son of Gaynelle Patterson Siron of Monterey, VA, and the late Eddie A. Siron.

He was a member of Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church.

Surviving besides his mother, are a sister and her husband, Kelly and David Botkin of Monterey, VA; and three nieces, Kimberly Botkin of Harrisonburg, VA, Laura Botkin of Staunton, VA, and Megan Botkin of Monterey, VA. 

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sherrie Lynn Siron. 

A funeral service was conducted Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell, VA, with Pastor Bob Johnson officiating.  Burial was in McKendree Cemetery.

Rebecca Ann Hammer Warner, 65, of Fort Pierce, FL, and formerly of Manassas, VA, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at St. Lucie Hospital in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Mrs. Warner was born Aug. 20, 1942, in Franklin and was a daughter of the late Marvin Ray Hammer and Nellie Icadora Mitchell Hammer.

She graduated from Franklin High School in 1960 and was a member of the Church of the Brethren. She was a salesperson at Leggett Department Store in Manassas, VA, for 18 years and had lived in Fort Pierce, FL, for the past eight years.

On Dec. 24, 1961, she married Wilson Joseph Warner, who survives.

She is also survived by two sons, Bradley Joseph Warner of New Market, MD, and Clark Andrew Warner of Cincinnati, OH; a sister, Myrtle Hammer Kesner of Franklin; and two brothers, Delton Hammer and Albert Hammer, all of Franklin; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew and David and two step-grandchildren, Asia and Lillian.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Warner.

Pastor Daryl D. Ritchie conducted the funeral Wednesday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.

Memorial donations may be made to the Red Dress Society for Research for Women's Heart Disease or to a charity of choice.

Robert Hartman, 82

Robert Warner Hartman, 82, of Staunton, VA, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Augusta Medical Center , Fishersville, VA.

He was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Circleville, a son of the late Minor and Jessie M. Warner Hartman.

After graduating from Moorefield High School, Mr. Hartman joined the United States Navy where he proudly served his country during World War II in the south Pacific.  He received his bachelor of science degree from George Washington University in Washington, Dc, and from there he went on to teach high school, not only in Virginia and West Virginia but as far away as France, Germany and Ethiopia.  He taught at Pendleton County High School and coached football there in the 1950s. 

On August 25, 1946, he was united in marriage with Jean Snyder Hartman, who preceded him in death, at Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church in Moorefield.  They were married for 58 years.

Surviving are two daughters Sue Hartman of Staunton, VA, and Lois Hartman of Mint Spring, VA; a special family friend, Sharon Deacon of Mint Spring, VA; a brother Jack Hartman of St. Augustine, FL; nieces and nephews, Teri and Jeff Friedler of Manassas, VA, Carol and Randy Ours of Petersburg, Anita and Roman Rozas of Ridgely, Mark and Karen Allen and Eric and Cindy Allen, all of Summersville, and Robin Allen of Charleston. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gary S. Hartman; one brother Glenn Thomas Hartman; two sisters Patricia Lou Hartman and Joe Ann Allen; and one nephew Don Schutte. 

  In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Hartman's body was cremated.  Burial was at Olivet Cemetery Moorefield.
