Lucinda Lacy. George was born about 1843, probably in the Boone or Lincoln CO
area, and married Adeline Dunlap, daughter of Thomas and Jane Dunlap. I would
like to know where they settled and who their children where and what became

I'm looking for my gg grandparents William Hill and Elizabeth. I have been told Elizabeth's maiden name was Stanley. They lived with a James S Hill there in Lincoln in
1870. William died before 1880. In 1860, they lived at Fork Mountain Township, Yancey County, NC. Also my g grandfather Swinfield. I was at the Courthouse in Hamlin but couldn't find any Records.
I would like to know more of them and where they are buried. I would Appreciate any thing on them.

Looking for information about my grandmother Margarate Conley Hale and her
parents Amanda and Sampson Conley of West Hamlin area. I have a copy of
my grandmothers death certificate she died 1931. She had a brother Dan
Conley that lived in or around Ranger. She also had two sisters that I
know of Sally and Julie Conley. One married a Yeager I think his name
was Will, the other married an Adkins. Some of them should be buried
around there West Hamlin somewhere. Anyone that knows of any of these

McCOY, John bn abt 1824 VA married Sarah "Sally" bn abt 1828 VA. Three known sons; (1) Thomas B. McCOY bn abt 1859 Wayne Co. WV, married Minnie Alice McComas bn abt 1865 WV, d/o James McComas and Emily Messinger. (2) Albert G. McCOY bn abt 1862, (3) George C. McCOY bn abt 1865. This family lived on the Lincoln and Wayne Co. line and is believed buried behind the old homestead there. Any information on any of the family members would be helpful.

John A. DIAL with wife Mary SPRINKLE migrated to WVA from NC sometime after
1804. Their children (Born 1804 to 1815) were Thomas,George, Cleo Etta,
Anna and John Milford. All may have lived in Lincoln at some time before
migrating westward. John Milford DIAL definitely remained in Lincoln,
marrying Caroline WILKINSON.in 1838. Their children(Born 1844-1858) were
James Madison, Elizabeth, Wm. Anderson, Geo. Washington, Judith Ann, John
Wesley, Edward. Mary Margaret and Catherine. James Madison DIAL served in
the 8th VA Cav during the CW and returned to marry Sarah MIDKIFF in 1865.
Their offspring were Hariette, Albert, Sarah Elizabeth, Escaline, William,
Elvira, Randolph, Spencer and Arlando. I am seeking any information on these

My grandmother Virginia MURPHY daughter of James MURPHY and Ada or Adriann
STEPHENSON married George MCGRAW son of Charles MCGRAW and Sarah Ellen
ADKINS. Sarah was the daughter of Lycan ADKINS and Eliza Jane MURRAY.
My stumbling block is the STEPHENSON family. Ada was the daughter of
Armstrong and Caroline__???___STEPHENSON found in the 1850, 1860, 1880 and
Caroline found as widow in 1900 census of (first) Cabell County and (later
as) Lincoln County in the Paw Paw district.

They had a daughter, NORA WHITE DIAL in 1898. She would marry in Kentucky to EMMETT HARNESS and raise a family in Crab Orchard. SARAH and JEFFERSON are
thought to have been at least part native indian. And rumours abound that JEFFERSON DIAL had ties to the Hatfields. But as yet, I can't find anything
on either one of them, in either state.

Requesting location of the SPERRY Family Cemetery on PARSNER CREEK, in
Lincoln County, WV. My great grandparents and at least two sons are buried
there. I have been to PARSNER CREEK but I cannot find the cemetery. The
Cemetery is located on property owned by the family of James Harvey and
Mahala (BROWN) SPERRY from late 1800's until early 1930's. Court House at
Hamlin is unable to locate the property or the cemetery because of loss of
records in a fire. James Harvey SPERRY was a Captain in the Union Army in
Civil War and his grave might be marked with a federal marker?

I'm still looking for information on my father's family in Lincoln
County. I do know that my grandparents are buried in a cemetary in West
Hamlin. Could anyone kindly provide the name(s) of cemetaries in West Hamlin? I
remember my father (by the way, his name was Harold Smith) telling me
that it was on top of a rather large hill? Any help appreciated. I also recall my
father telling me that he grew up with Chuck Yeager, so perhaps anyone
out there who is familiar with the Yeager family might also remember something about my dad and this might be a way of getting some leads. Also, my fathers' youngest sister (at last I heard -- quite a while ago) lived (lives) in West Hamlin. Her name is Ola Reynolds. I don't have an address or phone number for her. Perhaps someone out there knows her and could verify whether she is still in West Hamlin? Thanks for any help provided.

I am looking for information on george Boster he was the first superintendent of schools in what is now Lincoln County. Also, he was aGeneral in the Civil war. He and his wife Mary Francis Boster were born in ohil but settled at the mouth of Trace Fork of Mud River in 1869. I have heard that he was of German descent and am looking for more inflormation on this and what regiment he fought with in the Civil war and of course anything else I can find out.

My grandmother, Stella Marie SPEARS was born in Branchland, WV. Her parents were Asa SPEARS and Lula PORTER. Some call Asa by the name Julian. He was shot in some kind of shootout. Lula

I need information on John Arix born 1860 in KY married to Martha Patton born abt 1850 in KY. This was a second marriage for each. There were at least three daughter's. One daughter name unknown. The other two daugher were Bertha born 1895 and Lizzie. There were other children -
names unknown. They were in Lincoln Co in th early 1900's. Any information will be helpful.

I am trying to find information on my father's family. I am looking for information on my grandfather's family, His name was John Henry Smith (1876?-1942) He lived around Hamlin or West Hamlin. I also am interested in finding information on my grandmother's family. Her name was Jennie Smith (yes, Smith was her maiden name). Her mother's name was Jane Sours and I do not now what my great-grandfather Smith's full name was. As far as I know, these branches of the Smith family are from Lincoln County. I do know that in later years my grandmother lived in Boone
County (Danville) and that this was where she lived when she died in 1974.

Looking for information on Sylvanus Lee SOMMERVILLE bc1858 in Harrison Co, WV, [son of Thomas A SOMMERVILLE and Mary Ellen SMITH-they were never married to each other] he died and is buried in Braxton Co, m Lilly WATSON in Lewis Co in 1881, children born in Braxton were Virginia, James Wade, Mary, Beula, Chloe, and Denzel, As a child Lee lived with this step-father Thomas POSEY in Lewis co. My father James Luther Sommerville was born 1924 in Lincoln Co, WV, son of James Wade.

Virginia, and moved to Missouri over one hundred years ago. I would like to know where the town is and who settled it, if anyone knows. I believe it is near the "Big Ugly Creek", or "Big Muddy Creek".
