My father, George W. Jackson was born in Lincoln County in December, 1892. He had three younger brothers: David, Noah (Hayes), and Charlie. Their father was Noah Jackson (1870 - 1950), who married Emily Collins (I think) around 1890. I am looking for info on Emily Collins (died around 1903) and Noah Jackson's parents.

Boone Co. I believe. Their daughter ANTHELIA J. SMITH was born in Boone Co. in 1872. They Alexander and Juliantes Smith had two other children, who were they. I am looking for information about the early RUSSELLS of Kanawha Co. JANE RUSSELL appears on the 1810 and 1820 Census of Kanawha Co. as head of the household. Who were her children and who was her husband? Is she in someway related by marriage to PEYTON RUSSELL? On the 1830 Census of Kanawha there is a ELIZABETH RUSSELL who is head of the household who was her husband and who were her children? My g g g grandfather was SAMUEL RUSSELL who was born @1820 and died 1883. He was married at least 2 times SERENA TURLEY 1848 and NANCY BROWDWN COBB in 1864. There is an ESTATE settlement in Kanawha Co. in 1848 for a SAMUEL RUSSELL was this the father of the SAMUEL RUSSELL who died in 1883. Also SAMUEL RUSSELL in 1870/80 is listed as a MD. Can someone please help me with this family? I believe the TURLEYS & FINLEYS intermarry into the RUSSELLS but how? Thank you Pat Adkins [email protected]

I am interested in the RUSSELL family of Lincoln Co. David Russell and Lucinda Thompson Russell and their family who was his dad? Also the TURLEYS of Lincoln Co. EMberson or Emmerson Turley and his wife Polly. David Russell and Lucinda Thompson Russell were on several of the Lincoln Co. Census. SAMUEL RUSSELLs estate settlement was listed in both Kanawha and Lincoln Co. He died in 1883 and he was a DR. in 1870 and 1880 I have a feeling he lived on the border of Lincoln and Kanawha Co. My Great-grandparents, Wiley Bowles and Sylvia Roach lived in Lincoln Co in the 1920's. Their youngest son, Edward Eugene Bowles was born there in 1924. Their son, Sydney Vain Bowles was born in 1915 and died in 1928 in Lincoln County and is buried there
in a coal mining town by the name of Silash??? Does anyone have any information about this family or about this town? Wiley Bowles' daughter, Elizabeth Bowles was married to Shirley S Stillwell in 1927 in Lincoln Co. Anyone know of them? Thank you, Gracie

HOOVER, Jacob My great great grandfather, Jacob Hoover, is buried West Union, Fayette Co., Iowa. His gravestone says he was born 1797 Lincoln Co WV. Obviously, there was no West Virginia in 1797. He married Elizabeth Rosier 1834 Shelby Co, Ohio; her parents, Lawrence Rosier and Esther Kayser (Kaiser) were married Harrison Co WV. There were also Hoovers in that area. Any ideas why Jacob's gravestone would say Lincoln Co WV? I believe his parents were Jacob Hoover and Susannah Garver.

Information about William Adkins and Sarah? they are parents of Thomas T. Adkins who was born Feb. 1818. He is listed in Census from 1840 until 1900 of Lincoln Co. He married 1st Christina (1850) then Lisare Holton then Belinda Pierson and finally in 1870 Marinda. In 1900 he is living with son William A. Adkins and he is 82. I also need information about Samuel Smith and Mahala ??? Smith they are 40 on 1850 Census of Lincoln Co. Who were their parents? Anything about these two families will help drastically. Lovejoy - looking for my g.grandfather Lovejoy - first name unknown. Married Mary Ellen Moses abt 1886. Mary Ellen was b. Mar 1870 in Putnam Co., WV. She died giving birth to my grandmother 25 Mar 1890 in St. Albans, Kanawha, WV. My grandmother was Clara May Lovejoy and she had a sister Florence Lovejoy born in 1887. The family story is that G.Grandfather Lovejoy died of a
"broken heart" after the death of Mary Ellen. It is possible that he was from Putnam Co., near Scotts Depot or Lincoln Co.,WV Mary Ellen's father was James Richard Moses who lived near Scotts Depot. After the death of Mary Ellen and her husband,
the children were raised by Martha W. Moses Shumate and Viola Jane Moses Dodson, sisters of Mary Ellen. Have been unable to find records of births or deaths in Kanawha or Putnam. Can someone help? Has some heard this story connected to a Lovejoy. Any help would be appreciated.

William Prichard. I need information on two William Prichards, one born circa 1850 and the other circa 1802. The first William Prichard was b. abt 1850 & lived in Lincoln County with his wife Cynthia Harless. They had a son named Marshall b. 3/7/1881; d.2/13/1954. Cynthia parents were Charles and Mildred Harless, with her b. circa 1853/55. I need to know who
William's parents were. I found a William Prichard (22 yrs old) in the 1870 census living with a William Prichett/Prichard and Mary "Pollie". But they are 68 & 65 yrs old respectively. She is obviously too old to be the mother of children ranging from 22 to 3 yrs old - and he is probably too old also. Is there a generation missing? Are these grandparents?
It gets more interesting. One of the children is Zachariah. I THINK this is same person who married a Mary Jane and had a child named Mary Bell Prichard. Mary Bell married Marshall Prichard. Therefore, if William and Zach are brothers, then Mary Bell Prichard and Marshall Prichard were first cousins! This all sounds logical but I can nail it down definitively. I need to know who the parents of William and Zach were in the 1870 Lincoln County census, and I need to know if Zachariah (= Zacharis Jackson Pritchett???) married a Mary Jane (Lastname?) and if the 22 yr old William was a brother who married Cynthia Harless? I would dearly appreciate help with this tangle, including Mary J(ane)'s maiden name and parentage, and any information on Mary
"Pollie" who was married to William Pritchet and age 65 in the 1870 census. Her birthplace supposedly OH and his North Carolina. I would be willing to pay a fee to a real expert in Lincoln Co genealogical sleuthing, if that would help.

Zan Cremeans (b. circa 1843). Zan married Sarah Margaret Stephens, daughter of David Stephens. Does anyone have any info on David Stephens or his wife? Zan's father was Preston Cremeans & his mother Anna Eliza Angel. Any info on either of these people? Preston was born circa 1815. Zan had a son, Eli Washington Cremeans (b. 3/8/1875; d. 11/4/75) who married a woman named Anthela Sansom (Anthelia/Anthely and Sansom or Sampson). She was born around 1884. I can not find any parents listed for her. I understand she died about 1973 in Logan Co under the name of Stollings or Stallings (2nd husband).
Any help on these matters would be greatly appreciated. I would consider paying for someone's time if they were expert & efficient in tracking down Lincoln Co data.
