WILL OF Job Martin

In the name of God Amen, I Job Martin of the County of Kanawha and the state of Virginia, being in a low state of health but of sound mind, do make this my last will and Testament.

First: It is my will that all my just debts shall be paid.

Second: I give to my wife Elizabeth Martin the balance of all my estate after paying my debts as aforesaid, consisting of all my stock of every kind likewise my debt against John Nugin for about three hundred dollars which I loaned him, the interest of which as to pay for the rent of his plantation whereon I live. Also all my household and kitchen furniture and my crop growing on said plantation, together with any debt or debts that may be due me in any manner whatsoever. In Testimony whereof I have thereunto set my hand and seal this day of 28 day of July 1837.

Signed and acknowledged as his last will and testament in the presence of Joel Shrewsbury, Senor and James Moles.

At a Court held for Kanawha County the 9th day of November 1839. The last will and Testament of Job Martin deceased was this day presented in Court and proven by the oaths of Joel Shrewsbury Senor and James Moles, subscribing witness is hereto and ordered to be recorded.
