WILL OF
JONAS H HARTWELL
In the name of God Amen, I Jonas H Hartwell of the County of Kanawha … being of the .. of sickness but of sound mind and dispose ..the uncertainty of life and to the ..and declare this my last will and testament.
First, I nominate and appoint Frederick Rust and William Hartwell my executors.
Secondly, That all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as may be …
Thirdly, I gives to my beloved brother William Hartwell .. golds lever watch To my beloved sister Mary Augusta.. my sephire watch and to my beloved sister Lydia Maria my golds frenches watch
Fourthly, to my said brother William Hartwell two thirds of all my property debts money after paying of all my just debts funeral expenses and after the legacies aforesaid and
Fifthly, to my said sisters Mary Augusta and Lydia Maria the remaining third of all my said property, debts money equally to be divided between them.
And finally I request that and direct they my said executors willfully and as soon as may be give effect to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills.
In witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 31st day of May AD 1837.

This last will and testament of Jonas H Hartwell deceased was this day presented in court and proven by the oaths of William Whitteker and James M Laidley subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
