William Griffith - Grantee
November 30, 1826

This indenture predicates on a title bond given on the 23d January 1826 to William Griffith of the County of Kanawha State of Virginia, and obligating me, Samuel D. Honeyman to make a deed on or before the 30th of November following, which I was always ready to comply with. Witnesseth: that in consideration of one Dollar in hand by said Griffith the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged, to a certain tract of land included with a survey of land of 93,026� acres in the County of Kanawha State of Virginia granted by the commonwealth of Virginia to Robert James, & Co?. Beginning at the mouth of Brier Creek one of the tributary streams of Big Coal River, thence up the said Brier Creek about one mile including all the land on each side of the creek to the top of the creek ridges. Thence down to the beginning - To have and to hold the said tract free from the claim of any and every claiming under the right of Robert James - In witnesseth I have set my hand & seal this 30th November 1826.
