I'm trying to find descendants of George and Ada (Robbins) FORBES.  I found that Ada lived in Charleston after the death of George (1911).


Ada (ROBBINS) FORBES was born on March 15, 1858 in Shickshinny. She died on
August 8, 1935 in Wilkes-Barre (450 Carey Ave). Mrs. Annie Buckingham of
Wilkes-Barre was the informant noted on the death certificate. I suspect
that she was Ada�s daughter. The following details are what I do know about
Ada:

1.) Ada ROBBINS was in Great Bend Twp., Susquehanna, PA as shown in the 1870 Pennsylvania Census.

2.) Ada ROBBINS was a member of the M.E. Church at Shickshinny until 1876 (now United Methodist).

3.) Mrs. George W. FORBES (Ada ROBBINS) lived at 1414 Kanawha Blvd., Charleston, WV.

4.) Ada FORBES was a member of the 1st M.E. Church of Charleston, WV until October 23, 1922.
     (presently Christ Church United Methodist Church) 

5.) Ada FORBES rejoins the Shickshinny church on December 03, 1922.

6.) Ada FORBES resides at the Home for Homeless Women until her death in 1935.

7.) She and her husband George are buried at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Shickshinny, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania.

Ada was a resident at the Home for Homeless Women until her death in 1935. I found that the remaining residents and records of the home were transferred to the Heritage House after the 1972 flood.

I can get George�s death certificate if I can locate where he died.  He apparently didn't die in Luzerne County.  My ultimate goal is to find his parents.  George's father was probably the unidentified son of Amos & Lucy FORBES.  The following people share a family plot at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Shickshinny.

M. Jacob ROBBINS was born in Shickshinny, Luzerne Co., PA.

Elizabeth BLANCHARD was born in Bloomingdale, Ross twp., Luzerne Co., PA.
