Falls Mill Methodist Church

Falls Mill Methodist Church

The Falls Mill Class was organized in an old log schoolhouse in 1885 with J. F. Arnold as pastor. Charter members were Margaret VEITH, Sam VEITH, Mr & Mrs. Marion JONES. In 1913, Mrs. Margaret VEITH and her heirs gave a plot of ground to be used for a church and on this plot a new church was erected with The Odd Fellows Hall as the upper story.
Rev. E. A. NICHELSON was pastor at that time. In 1937 the church group and the Farm Womens Club purchased the upper story from the IOOF Lodge for $150.00 and in in 1956 the church group bought the half interest in the upper story from the Farm Womens Club for $500.00. In June 1961 the upper story was removed and they rebuilt the church at a cost of $2,500.00. This church was later taken by the USArmy Corps of Engineers and the village of Falls Mill was no longer!
