John Salmon (1760-1837) enlisted, 1778, in Capt. William Wilson's company, Colonel Chambers' 1st regiment of Pennsylvania troops; engaged in battles of Monmouth and Sullivan's expedition against the Indians of western New York. In 1818 he applied for a pension. His claim was allowed. He was born in Northumberland, Pa.; died in Groveland, N. Y.
