Marie Gansen, 97, Iola, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 1995 at the Iola Nursing Home.BR>BR>
She was born Jan. 13, 1898 in Oshkosh, the daughter of the late Casper and Alvina (Brandenburg) Heinemann. On Nov. 25, 1924, she married Paul L. Gansen in Menominee, Mich. He died on Jan. 3, 1962. She was a clerk at the Kline Department Store in Oshkosh.BR>BR>
Mrs. Gansen was a loving, caring, and giving person who liked helping others.BR>BR>
Survivors include three sisters; Viola Bublitz and Rose Reiter, both of Oshkosh, and Margaret Kaeser, Manitowoc; nieces and nephews.BR>BR>
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar Heineman, and an infant brother.BR>BR>
A private service will be held at a later date.BR>BR>

TODAY'S DEATHS
Railroader, Paul Gansen, Is Dead at 72
Paul Gansen, 72, of 916 Central St., died Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Mercy Hospital. He was taken to the hospital Monday morning following a heart attack.
He was born in Hortonville on Sept. 7, 1899, son of Dr. and Mrs. Albert Gansen and had resided in Oshkosh since 1900. He was married to Miss Marie Heinemann on Nov. 25, 1924 in Menominee, Mich.
Mr. Gansen had been employed by the Milwaukee Road for 33 years before his retirement in 1950. A veteran of WW1, he was a member of Florian Lampert Post 1908, Veterans of Foreign Wars, member of the brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and former member of Masonic Lodge 205.
Surviving are his wife, Marie; one brother, Roman Gansen, Torrance, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Celia Stratford, also of Torrance; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Konrad Funeral Home with the Rev. Alexander Weinbender, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from Friday afternoon until the hour of services.

Mrs. Carl (Delores) Gerstmeyer, 48, formerly of Oshkosh, died Wednesday at 11 a.m. to her home in Appleton.
The former Delores Diane West was born in Oshkosh on Sept. 26, 1928, daughter of Joseph and Gertrude West, and was married to Carl Gerstmeyer on Aug. 20, 1948.
Mrs. Gerstmeyer was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Surviving are her widower, one brother, Joseph West, Oshkosh; and five sisters, Mrs. Florence Trenerry, Gwinn, Mich., Mrs. Grace Bayer, Neenah, Mrs. Marie Fiedler, Mrs. John (Phyllis) Tetzlaff and Mrs. John (Charlotte) Murphy, Oshkosh.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. John D. Strom officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Fiss & Bills Funeral Home Friday from 4-9 p.m., and on Saturday at the church from 8-9 a.m.

Edward Giese, 70, of 1321 Sixth street, an Oshkosh resident since 1919,
died at Mercy hospital at 3:20 o'clock this morning. Death was due to a heart
attack.
Born June 8, 1880, in the town of Theresa, Mr. Giese moved to a farm
near Fisk after his marriage to the former Emma Billing, Nov. 10, 1904, and
resided there until moving to Oshkosh in 1919. They lived here since that
time. He was employed by the Woodland Implement Company and before that by
the Kossel Implement Company for a number of years.
He was a member of First English Lutheran church since 1926 and was also
a member of the church Brotherhood. He was preceded in death by his wife on
March 3, 1947.
Survivors are two brothers, Frank and Richard Giese, both of Theresa,
and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Billing, Theresa, and Mrs. Ella Froeming, Juneau.
Fourteen nieces and 16 nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First English Lutheran
church, with the Rev. E. A. Koch officiating. Friends may call at the
Marquardt funeral home from Thursday afternoon until 12:30 p.m. Friday, and
at the church from 1 p.m., Friday, until the services. Mr. Giese will be
buried in Lakeview Memorial park.

Mrs. Emma Giese, 66, wife of Edward Giese, passed away at her home, 1321
Sixth street, this morning at 9:50 o'clock after a lingering illness.
She was born May 31, 1880 in Theresa. On Nov. 10, 1904, she was married
at Theresa to Edward Giese. After the marriage they moved to a farm near Fisk and lived there until 1919 when they came to Oshkosh to reside. Previous to her marriage, Mrs. Giese resided in the town of Theresa. She was a member of the First English Lutheran church and of the Ladies Aid of that church.
The survivors are the husband; one brother, Leo Billing of Theresa and
several nieces and nephews. One brother, George Billing of Mayville, and one sister, Mrs. Welling Lenk of Stanley, Wis., preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the
First English Lutheran church. The Rev. E. A. Koch will officiate. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial park. Friends may call to view the remains at the Marquardt funeral home Tuesday afternoon and until 12 o'clock Wednesday noon and at the church from 12:30 o'clock until the time of the services.

GIESE - Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Giese, wife of Edward Giese, were
held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First English Lutheran church, with the Rev. E. A. Koch officiating. Mrs. Koch and Mrs. Mildred MacLean rendered vocal selections with Mrs. Victor Bethke playing the organ accompaniment.
Pallbearers were, Harry Wesenberg, George Marx, Herman Buehring, Harry
Novitske, Frank Klabunde and Walter Graf. Interment took place at Lake View Memorial park. Among the immediate relatives who attended the services from out of the city were a brother, Leo Billing of Theresa, and other relatives from Theresa and Nekoosa. The Ladies Aid of the First English Lutheran church, of which the deceased was a member, attended the services in a group.

GIESE - Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Giese were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Marquardt funeral home and at 3 o'clock at the First English Lutheran church. The Rev. E. A. Koch officiated. Miss Elsie Retzack and Miss Agnes Lauritzen sang with Mrs. Victor Bethke playing the organ accompaniment. The pallbearers were Florian Lull, Herman Heideman, Harvey Heideman, Leonard Friedrich, Edward Karow, and Leslie Dahlke. Burial was at Riverside cemetery. Among those attending the services from out of the city were: Mr. and Mrs. Arwin Karow of Milwaukee; Mrs. Ernest Sternhagen, Mr. and Mrs. John Backus, Mrs. E. G. Powers and Clarence Karow, all of Menasha; and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Haufe and Mrs. Albert Karow of Neenah.

Mrs. Emma Giese, a lifelong resident of Oshkosh, died Thursday afternoon
at 4:30 o'clock at her home, 1102 Eighth street. She had been ill for a week.
Mrs. Giese was born in Oshkosh, Dec. 10, 1880, and had remained in this
city all her life. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Johanna
Siewert.
She was a member of the First English Lutheran church.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Arwin Karow of Milwaukee, and two sons,
Erwin and Herman Giese, both of Oshkosh. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Lull and Mrs. Henry Friedrich, and one brother,Walter Siewert, all of Oshkosh; and four nephews and two nieces.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the
Marquardt funeral home and at 3 o'clock at the First English Lutheran church.
The Rev. E. A. Koch will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside cemetery.
Those wishing to view the remains may do so at the Marquardt funeral home
Sunday and until the time of the services. The casket will not be opened in the church.

Irwin A. Giese, 52, of 1639 Minnesota St., died Sunday at 3 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, where he had been a patient for four days. He had been ailing for some time.
He was born April 6, 1905, in Oshkosh, and was married to Miss Lillian E. Strasser on June 8, 1935. He had been employed as a shipping clerk by Badger Lumber & Manufacturing Company for the past 25 years. Mr. Giese was a member of First Assembly of God and Men's Club of the church.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian; one son, Duane Giese, Oshkosh; three daughters, Misses Myrna Loy, Krystal and Melody Giese, Oshkosh; one sister, Mrs. Arwin Karow, Milwaukee; one brother, M.Sgt. Herman W. Giese, in Berlin, Germany; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at First Assembly of God, with the Rev. Elmer G. Biltoh officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at Mallery & Seefeld Funeral Home from Tuesday at 2 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The body will lie in state on Wednesday from noon until the hour of services.

Lillian Emma Giese, 84, died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, at the Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center, Waupun.
The deceased was born Lillian Emma Strasser, the daughter of William and Erna (Leher) Strasser, December 8, 1915 at Fisk, Winnebago County, WI.
She married Irwin August Giese June 9, 1935 at First English Lutheran Church Oshkosh. He preceded her in death August 15, 1957.
She resided in Oshkosh until 1965 when she removed to the Springfield, Missouri area, and to the Fort Morgan, Colorado area in 1983. In 1991 she returned to WI, living first at the Harris Apartments, Waupun until 1996, when she came to live with her daughter and son-in-law Myrna (Giese) and Clifford Sweet, Savage Road, Brandon. She entered the Christian Home in 1997. She was a member of the Beaver Dam Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by one son, Duane (Catherine) Giese, Plymouth, California; three daughters, Myrna (Clifford) Sweet, Brandon, Krystal (Giese) Patterson, Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Melody Joy (Giese) Smith, Ooltewah, Tennessee; one sister, Lula Bertha (Strasser) Chellow, Oshkosh; three brothers, Lawrence, Richland, Washington, William (Adeline), Oshkosh, and Roland (Betty), Oshkosh, and six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. One brother, Willis, Reno, Nevada, preceded her in death in 1999. One great grandchild also preceded her in death in 1999.
Funeral services for Mrs. Giese will be on Monday, November 13, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. at Kohls Funeral Home, Waupun, with Pastor Gaylan Herr, Sun Prairie, officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home from 12:30 to the time of service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh, WI.

NEENAH - Miss Mina M. Giese, 71, of 130 E. 57th St., New York City, N.Y., formerly of Menasha, died Dec. 21 as the result of an auto-pedestrian accident.
Born in Neenah, July 25, 1905, she had lived in New York for 38 years and had been employed as a bookkeeper for a New York law firm. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church of New York City.
Survivors are a brother, Otto Giese, Rosendale; one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Marie) Stephan, Neenah.
The Rev. Harvey E. Norenberg will officiate at services at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Kessler Funeral Home. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.

William Giese died at Winnebago Wednesday at 11:55 a.m., after a week's illness. He was 76.
Mr. Giese was born in the Town of Nekimi, April 10, 1876. His wife, Emma Giese, preceded him in death a number of years ago.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Karow, Milwaukee; two sons, Irwin Giese, Oshkosh, and Herman Giese, serving with the armed forces in Germany; one brother, Paul Giese, Oshkosh; and a sister, Mrs. Otto Wachholz, also of this city.
A brother, Julius Giese, died March 4, 1952.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at Fiss & Bills Funeral Home. The Rev. Edward F. Lutz will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and until the time of services.

GRASMICK - Funeral services for Adam Grasmick were held this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Conrad Diel Jr., 162 Eighth avenue, and at 2 o'clock at Zion Lutheran church. The Rev. Leo Oberleiter officiated. The pallbearers were Conrad Diel, Phillip Weitz, Gottlieb Schock, Conrad Block, Casper Felda and Philip Hergert. Interment took place at Lake View Memorial park. Among those who attended from out of the city were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grasmick and family of Neenah.
