Mrs. Gertrude Felker


Mrs. Gertrude H. Felker, 74, a native of Oshkosh, died Friday evening in San Bernardino, Calif., following an extended illness.

She was born in Oshkosh on March 5, 1897, daughter of Jessie and Esther Hull. Her husband, Charles, preceded her in death. Mrs. Felker moved to California from Oshkosh 14 years ago.

She was a graduate of the Conservatory of Music, Toronto, Canada, and member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

Surviving are one son, Charles W. Felker Jr., San Diego, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Strycher, Wauwatosa, and Mrs. Richard L. Adams, Appleton, and nine grandchildren.

Private services were held in California, followed by cremation. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery here. Seefeld Funeral Chapels is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Ferguson


GREEN LAKE - Mrs. Fannie Ferguson, 78, of 301 Marguerite Ave., Cuyahoga, Ohio, died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Doris Brooks, in Green Lake.

She was born Sept. 20, 1893, in Waterside, Pa., the daughter of David and Eliza Guyer Furry.

Survivors include her daughter; one brother, Lloyd Furry of Florida; and three grandchildren.

Cremation will take place in Oshkosh. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Cuyahoga.

PASSES AWAY FRIDAY
Joseph Fessler of the Town of Neenah Dies From Heart Trouble -- Funeral to be Sunday


Joseph Fessler passed away in the town of Neenah on Friday.

Mr. Fessler was born in Switzerland and was 54 years of age. He came to this country about thirty-six years ago coming directly to this county. Death was the result of heart failure, Mr. Fessler having been ill but a short time.

Mr. Fessler was in the cheese business at the Snell cheese factory for seventeen years. He is survived by one daughter, Ruth. His wife preceded him in death seven years ago. Funeral services will be held at Butte des Morts, Sunday, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Bell Cemetery.

FINCH - Funeral rites for Welcome Finch were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Fiss & Bills funeral home with the Rev. H. O. Blackburn officiating. Interment was at Riverside cemetery. Vocal selections were by Mrs. Martin Passolt. The pallbearers were John, Frank, Sam and Fred Finch, Lloyd Daniels and Frank Smits.

MRS. FLARITY DIES AT BUTTE DES MORTS


Winneconne, Wis. --- (Special) -- Mrs. Ildria Mae Flarity died this morning at 1:20 o'clock at her home in Butte des Morts. She had been seriously ill since last October when she suffered a paralytic stroke.

Mrs. Flarity was 68 years old and the widow of Timothy Flarity, who died Oct. 7, 1938. She was born in Butte des Morts and lived there her whole life. She was married at Butte des Morts, Jan. 9, 1916.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Fisher; two grandchildren; three brothers, Jesse and Clarence Benedict, Butte des Morts; and Robert Benedict, Neenah; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church in Winneconne with the Rev. O.P. Lovik and the Rev. John R. Siemens, the latter of Oshkosh, officiating. Interment will be in the Bell cemetery. Friends may call at the Nimmer funeral home Tuesday evening until Wednesday noon when the body will be taken to the church.

TIM EDWARD FLARITY OF BUTTE DES MORTS DIES


Winneconne, Wis., (Special) - Tim Edward Flarity, 64, Butte des Morts, died at Mercy hospital, Oshkosh, Friday morning. He had been ill about six weeks. Mr. Flarity was born at Pine City, Minn., in 1874. He moved with his parents to Winneconne when 2 years old. Flarity was married Jan 9, 1915 to Eldra May Benedict and they had resided since at Butte des Morts.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Pearl, at home; a brother, Fred of Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at Winneconne Baptist church, the Rev. O.P. Lovik officiating. Burial will be in Bell cemetery. Friends may call at the Nimmer funeral parlors this evening.

Emil F. FLENZ Jr.


Age 59, loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed away Friday evening unexpectedly. He was born November 21, 1929 in Menasha, a life resident. He was employed at the Wisconsin Tissue Mills, Menasha for 36 years and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. He was Secretary for the Union Local 1279 and Secretary for the Wisconsin Tissue Mills Credit Union. He was in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Survivors are his wife, Joanne; two daughters and sons-in-law: Mrs. Marvin (Kari) Kersten, Appleton; Mrs. James (Theresa) Gennigen, Menasha; two sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas and Kari, Chris and Sandy, all of Menasha; a sister, Mrs. Melba Cox, Menasha; two grandchildren: Ryan and kelly Flenz. The funeral will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at the Laemmrich Funeral Home and at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

PETER E. FLUOR DEAD AT AGE 52; HEADED LARGE FIRM


Information telling of the sudden death of Peter E. Fluor, 52, president of the Fluor Corporation Ltd., Los Angeles, Calif., was received Wednesday night by a cousin, Casper Fluor, 103 Grove Street.

Mr. Fluor was born in Oshkosh, June 16, 1895, but has been a resident of Los Angeles since 1912. He was the son of the late Simon J. Fluor, and visited Wisconsin nearly every year. Both he and his father, who proceeded him in death about six years ago, were at one time associated with Fluor Brothers Construction Company here. The corporation which Mr. Fluor headed, employed about 7,000 workers and conducted operations throughout the world. The company recently began a multimillion dollar oil operation in Arabia.

Besides the widow, a Californian by birth, survivors include two daughters, Margaret, who lives with her mother in Los Angeles, and Mrs. Betty Taylor of Seattle, Wash.; a son, Robert of Anaheim, Calif., two brothers, Simon Jr., and Fred, and a sister, Mrs. Elsie Daigle of Anaheim.

Funeral Services will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock at Boniface Catholic church, Los Angeles. Interment will take place at Los Angeles.

SIMON FLUOR, 77 DIES IN CALIFORNIA
Was Formerly Identified with Construction Firm Here--Funeral is Tuesday

Simon Fluor, 77, of Santa Ana, Calif., formerly associated with Fluor Brothers Construction Company here, passed away Saturday afternoon at his home in the west after being in poor health for several years.

Mr. Fluor left Oshkosh in 1912 and since then had been engaged in the construction field, mostly for the petroleum industry, and also organized a Los Angeles firm which manufactures cooling apparatus for oil. His construction firm has offices in Los Angeles and Kansas City, MO.

Born in Switzerland


Born in Switzerland Feb. 4, 1867, he came to America when he was about 20 years old, coming to Oshkosh and associating with his elder brothers. Casper and Ralph, who arrived in Oshkosh earlier and were organizers of the firm bearing their name. He was married over 50 years ago to the former Emma Sonnenberg of Oshkosh. His wife passed away about five years ago. Mr. Fluor was a frequent visitor in Oshkosh during the years since he moved to California.

Survivors include three sons, Peter of Anaheim, Calif., Simon Jr., of Anaheim, and Fred of Santa Ana; and two daughters, Mrs. Esther Gardner of Santa Ana, and Mrs. Elsie Diagle of Anaheim.

Mr. Fluor was an uncle of Casper, Walter, and Bernhard C. Fluor, and Mrs. Chris Bohlssen, all of Oshkosh.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at Santa Ana.
