Benjamin C. Eggers, 70, 250 Parkway, died at Mercy Hospital, at 8:40
o'clock Tuesday evening. He had been in failing health several years.
Mr. Eggers was born May 5, 1881, in Oshkosh, and was a life long
resident of this city. He married the former Miss Mabel Clark on March 23,
1905, in Oshkosh.
The deceased was a member of the Lakeshore Club.
Mr. Eggers is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Lester Berndt,
Oshkosh; two sons, Edwin Eggers, Oshkosh, and Richard Eggers, Appleton; two
sisters, Mrs. Max Yena and Mrs. Samuel Pedersen, both of Racine; four
grandchildren; and a number one nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the
Konrad Funeral Home, with the Rev. E. A. Koch, pastor of First English
Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Konrad Funeral Home from this evening until the
hour of services.

Eleanor Egner
Eleanor Egner, 83, Oshkosh, died Wednesday evening, October 20, 1993, at Pleasant Acres.
She is survived by two sisters, Lucille Wagner and Jule Grobarchic, both of Milwaukee; and several nieces and nephews.
Private family services were held, and burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Fiss and Bills Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Former Hotel Manager Dies Of Heart Attack
Joseph J. Egner, 55, of 2762 Harrison St., died Tuesday at 11:44 a.m., following a heart attack. He was driving his car at the time, which went out of control in the 600 block on Jefferson Street.
He was born in Oshkosh on Dec. 14, 1907, and was married 27 years ago to Eleanor Bochinski.
Manager of the State Hotel until it was torn down, Mr. Egner served with the Navy in World War II. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Eleanor; one brother, Frank Egner; one sister, Mrs. Marie LeBeck, both of Oshkosh; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. at Fiss & Bills Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. at St Peter Catholic Church, with the Rt. Rev. F.M. McKeough officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Thursday until the hour of services. The rosary will be recited Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

BROTHER MEETS DEATH
Peter Ehrig, aged 27, brother of Mrs. John Cox, 415 Eleventh street, met a tragic death at Jackson, Mich., Sunday noon when the automobile in which he was riding was struck by a passenger train.
He was injured so severely that he died in a few hours. Funeral services are to be held at Jackson on Wednesday.
Mrs. Cox is ill at her home here and will be unable to attend.

ARTHUR D. EILER
Arthur D. Eiler, 73, of 1310 Kewaunee St., died Monday at 11 a.m. at his home.
He was born in Oshkosh on Nov 8, 1900, son of Charles and Martha Eiler, and was married here on Nov 1, 1924 to Ruth Rieben, who preceded him in death on Dec 4, 1968.
Survivors are four sons, Walter Eiler, Oshkosh, Carl Eiler, Jacksonville, Fla., Jack and Arthur Eiler Jr, Oshkosh; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Ethel) Nigl, Oshkosh, and Mrs. Glen (Shirley) Durocher, Kewaunee; 27 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Konrad Funeral Home, with the Rev. Peter J. Koeshall, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 - 9 p.m.

Karl Eiler Dies at His Home -- Funeral Services are to be Held Wednesday Afternoon
Karl Eiler passed away at his home, 411 Division street Sunday at the age of 81 years. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y., May 22, 1865. Survivors are his wife, one son, Arthur D. Eiler, one granddaughter, one sister, Mrs. E. Schickedange, four brothers, John, Edward, William, and Jacob. The remains may be viewed at the home Tuesday evening and up until 3 o'clock on Wednesday, when the funeral services will be held.

DIES FOLLOWING A LINGERING ILLNESS
Jack Eilers, 69 years old, 397 Bowen street, died this morning at 4:15 o'clock at his home, after a lingering illness.
He was born Dec 16, 1862, at Buffalo, N.Y., came to Oshkosh as a boy and lived here approximately 60 years. He was a carpenter-contractor for many years and for the last 10 years was employed as house carpenter at the Athearn Hotel.
He is survived by his widow; one daughter, Lillian; two sons, Norman and Raymond Eilers; one sister, Mrs. Eugene Schickendantz; and two brothers, John and Edward Eilers, all of Oshkosh.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home, with burial at Riverside cemetery. Rev E.J. Elbert of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. The body will be at the home from Saturday afternoon to the time of the services.

MRS. MARTHA EILERS DIES AT AGE OF 75
Mrs. Martha Eilers, 413 Division street, died Sunday morning at 6:30 o'clock at St. Mary's hospital. Death was due to general debility.
Mrs. Eilers was born in Wales, April 15, 1864. She had lived in this city since 1867.
Survivors are a son, Arthur Eilers, and six grandchildren, all of Oshkosh.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Konrad funeral home with the Rev. Henry Graf of the Glad Tidings tabernacle officiating. Interment will be at Riverside cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening and until the time of the services.

Gordon H. Elmer
Gordon H. Elmer, 77, Oshkosh, died Saturday, August 29, 1992, at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 28, 1914, in Oshkosh, the son of Harvey and Edna Love Elmer. He married Dorothy Jane Stenson on April 19, 1941. She proceeded him in death on December 20, 1981.
Gordy had attended Plymouth Congregational Church and was employed as a custodian with the Oshkosh Public School System until his retirement.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas (Beverly) Elmer of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Gerald (Linda) Elmer of Oshkosh; two daughters, Claire Lee "Kookie" (John) McKoy of Van Dyne and Sandra (Carl) Arnold of Butte des Morts; one sister, Betty Hamann of Oshkosh; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Konrad Behlman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lynn Scovil officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 12:30 p.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.

MRS. KENNETH ELMER
Mrs. Kenneth (Helen) Elmer, 50, of 2104 Point Comfort Road, died today at 8:30 a.m. at Mercy Medical Center where she had been taken shortly before from her home.
The former Helen E. Gerstmeyer was born in Canada on Sept. 16, 1923, daughter of Fred and Elizabeth Gerstmeyer, and was married to Kenneth Elmer on July 27, 1940.
Mrs. Elmer was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Van Dyne.
Surviving are her widower; one son, Robert Elmer, Oshkosh; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Patricia) Beckman, Oshkosh; one brother, Arthur Gerstmeyer, Racine; a sister, Mrs. Mary G. Hartman, Oshkosh, two half-brothers, William Paffenroth, Oshkosh and Carl Gerstmeyer, Appleton; two half-sisters, Mrs. Earl Worby, Oshkosh, and Mrs. Edwin Raatz, Mesa, Ariz., and three grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Konrad Funeral Home, with the Rev. Waldemar Weissgerber, pastor of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Van Dyne, officiating. burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.. A memorial has been established.

RETIRED CARPENTER, JOHN EULER, DIES
John F. Euler, 83, of 322 Grand Ave., died Friday at 11:30 p,m, at his home. He had been ill for seven years.
He was born in Oshkosh, Dec 12, 1870, son of the late Jacob and Mary Euler. A retired carpenter, Mr. Euler had been in the carpentry trade since the age of 16 and had retired about seven years ago.
Mr. Euler was married July 4, 1893, to Miss Emma Kroupp, in Oshkosh.
Surviving him are his wife, Emma, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Mallery & Seefeld Funeral Home. The Rev. Theodore Irion will officiate. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon and until the hour of services.

WAS 96 YEARS OF AGE
Bowen Street Resident Was One of Oldest Residents of the City of Oshkosh
Jacob Euler, one of the oldest men in Oshkosh, passed away this morning at his home, 301 Bowen street, at the age of 96 years. Mr. Euler had been in excellent health up to the time of his birthday, March 19, but had failed since that time, although confined to his bed for only two or three days. He was born in Germany, March 19, 1826, and came to Oshkosh about sixty years ago. He was engaged in the business of carpenter contracting until about twenty years ago.
He is survived by five sons and one daughter. They are Jacob, Charles, John, Edward, and William Euler and Mrs. Eugene Scheckendanz, all of this city. There are also two brothers who live at Buffalo, N.Y. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Funeral services for Jacob Euler, one of Oshkosh's oldest residents whose death occurred yesterday, will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock for his home at 301 Bowen street, Rev. A.E. Hoppe (?), pastor for the Salem Evangelical church will be in charge of the service. The remains will be taken to Riverside cemetery and will be placed temporarily in the city mausoleum there. The pallbearers will be the five sons, Jacob, Charles, John, Edward, and William Euler and the son-in-law, Eugene Schickendanz. Friends wishing to view the remains may do so at the home on Bowen street Saturday afternoon and Sunday up to the hour of the service.

DIES AT HER HOME
Mrs. Minnie Eilers, wife of William Eilers, died this morning at 11 o'clock at the home, 301 Bowen street. She had been in failing health for six months.
Mrs. Eilers was a life long resident of Oshkosh. She was born in this city, Sept. 26, 1888.
The survivors are her husband; and one daughter, Marie. She is also survived by her father, William Mueller; two brothers, Herman and William Mueller; and three sisters, Mrs. Geo Phelps, Mrs. Edna Roenitz and Mrs. Alma Prautsch, all of Oshkosh.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

RAILROAD MAN DIES
Walter J. Evans of Manitowoc Passes Away at Home of Brother-in-Law in This city
Walter J. Evans of Manitowoc died yesterday afternoon at 4'oclock at the home of his brother-in-law, Thomas MacDonald, 242 Forest Avenue after an illness of several months duration. He was born in North Wales in 1865 and was therefore 55 years of age. He came to this country in 1887. He was employed by the Lake Shore Railroad but later went over to the Northwestern Railroad and had been in their employ as an engineer since that time. He was a member of the Centennial Lodge of Masons No. 205 and was also a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Engineers. He is survived by his wife, a half brother, William Bedward of this city, and two brothers residing in Wales. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
