OSHKOSH WOMAN DIES FROM HEART AILMENT
Mrs. Gertrude Vivian (GLINES) JACKMAN died suddenly Sunday evening at 11:20 o'clock at her home, 65 Burdick street, as the result of a heart ailment. She had not been ill previously, but suffered a sudden seizure, and passed away almost instantly.
Mrs. JACKMAN was born at Hogan, Wis., Oct. 10, 1897. She had lived in Oshkosh for the last 27 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist church of this city.
Survivors are her son, Merton DUVALL, Oshkosh, her mother Mrs. Mae TEMPLE, Oshkosh; two brothers, Howard TEMPLE and Earl GLINES, of this city; and three sisters, Mrs. Pearl KEEFER, Chicago; and Miss Mildred GLINES and Mrs. Lillian KOEPKE, Oshkosh. There are also several nieces and nephews surviving.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Spikes & McDonald funeral home. The Rev. O. P. Lovik will be the officiating clergyman. Burial will be at Brooks cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon and until the time of the services.
Note: Gerturde Vivan (Glines) Jackman was married to Joseph Michael Jackman (a native of Palo Alto Co., Iowa).

NESHKORO - Francis Jackson, 63, Route 1, Neshkoro, died Saturday in Berlin Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 21, 1917, in West Allis, the son of Francis and Agnes Caveney Jackson Sr. He married Evelyn Karolewicz, Oct. 4, 1941, in Milwaukee.
Mr. Jackson was formerly employed as a foreman at Allis Chambers Co., Milwaukee. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Patricia Hosking, Cedarburg, and Maureen Jackson-Burnett, Milwaukee; one sister, Rita Hansen, Milwaukee; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Princeton, the Rev. Phillip Krogman officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at Wachholz Funeral Home, Princeton, Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m.

ANTON JAKUBOWSKI ILL SEVEN MONTHS, DIES
Anton Jakubowski, 38, of 271 Lemmer Street, passed away at 8:27 p.m. Saturday at Mercy hospital after failing in health for the past seven months. He was in the hospital five weeks.
Born in Oshkosh, June 10, 1912, Mr. Jakubowski was a resident of this city his entire life.
Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Jakubowski; a brother Frank and six sisters, Mrs. Leo Muze, Mrs. Henry Deresinski, Miss Constance Jakubowski, Mrs. Jacob Spanbauer, and the Misses Rose and Theresa J. Jakubowski. All are Oshkosh residents. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Fiss & Bills funeral home and 9 o'clock at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church with Rev. A.H. Trbebiatowski officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from Tuesday afternoon until the services. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mr Jakubowski will be buried in Calvary cemetery.

MRS. EMELIE JAHSMAN IS CALLED BY DEATH
Mrs. Emelie Florentine Jahsman, widow of John Jahsman, died this morning at 8:30 o'clock at her home, 82 Harney street. She had been in failing health for six months.
Mrs. Jahsman was born in Germany, Nov. 26, 1855. She came to this country about 56 years ago and since that time had lived at Symco, Wis. and in Oshkosh. Her husband died in 1923. A son preceded her in death also.
Surviving are four children, Mrs. Martha Strobus, Neenah, Miss Olga Jahsman, Oshkosh, Fred Jahsman, Big Falls, Wis., and Ernst Jahsman, Manawa, Wis. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Konrad funeral home. The Rev. J.E. Elbert, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church of which the deceased was a member, will be the officiating clergyman. Burial will be at Symco, Wis. Friends wishing to view the remains may do so at the Konrad funeral home Wednesday afternoon and until the time of the services.

MRS. JAKUBOWSKI DIES AT AGE 84
Mrs. Julia Jakubowski, 84, of 271 Lemmer St., died Friday at 5:30 p.m. at her home. She had been ill since April. She was born in Poland on August 10, 1873, and was married there 66 years ago to John Jakubowski, who preceded her in death in 1952. They came to this country and directly to Oshkosh on April 23, 1902. Mrs. Jakubowski was a member of St. Josaphat's Catholic Church and Rosary Society of the church. Surviving are one son. Frank Jakubowski, Oshkosh; five daughters, Miss Constance and Miss Rose Jakubowski, Mrs. Henry Dersinski, Mrs. Daniel Radichel, and Mrs. Jacob Spanhauer, Oshkosh; two sisters Mrs. Veronica Kuklinski and Mrs. Constance Bochinski, Oshkosh; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. One son, Antone, and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Muza, preceded her in death. Services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Fiss & Bills Funeral Home and 9 a.m. at St Josaphat's Catholic Church, with Rev. A. H. Trzebiatowski officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Sunday at 2 p.m. until the hour of services. The rosary will be recited Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

JAMES - Final rites for Miss Sarah James were held Friday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the First Congregational church with the Rev. T. R. Faville, Madison, as the officiating clergyman. Organ selections were played by Dr. Clarence Shepard. The body was taken to Milwaukee this morning for cremation.

HENRY JEWELL DIES
Former Lumberman and Cattleman Expires at his House on West Algoma street at
the Age of Sixty-seven Years -- He Came Here in 1848 as a Little Boy --
Funeral to be Private Wednesday
Henry Augustus Jewell, a pioneer resident of the city of Oshkosh, passed
away last evening at 8:20 o'clock at his residence, 278 West Algoma street,
after an illness of about three years' duration. He was sixty-seven years
of age and had lived in this city since he was a boy of five years of age.
In the early days of Oshkosh as a sawdust city, Mr. Jewell was active as a
lumberman, and he continued to engage in this line for many years, in late
years being also interested in the cattle business in Texas.
Henry A. Jewell was born November 7, 1843 in what was known as little Green
Lake in Marquette County, his father and family moved from the Atlantic
states to Wisconsin earlier in that year. After engaging in Marinette
(Marquette?) County for a few years, the family came to Oshkosh in 1848 and
Henry C. Jewell, father of Henry A. Jewell, became prominent in local and
state affairs , serving as mayor of Oshkosh, alderman, supervisor, and
member of the legislature.
As a young man Henry A. Jewell became identified with his father in the
lumber business. He married Miss Coraline Wickwire, May 14, 1867. His wife
died in 1883. Those surviving are two daughters and one son. , Mrs. C. D.
Cleveland and Mrs. R. C. Brown, Jr., both of this city, and Edgar W. Jewell,
Chicago.
The deceased after being associated with his father in the lumber business
was a member of the lumber firm of Jewell, Lawrence, & Co., and later was a
member of the Hollister-Jewell company, which had timber holdings in Canada.
After the death of H. W. McKoy, Mr. Jewell was president of the Sawyer
Cattle company, much of his time being spent on the Sawyer ranch in Tom
Green county, Texas. He was at the head of this company for about three
years. Mr. Jewell was the brother of the late Mrs. Edgar P. Sawyer.
The funeral services are to be held Wednesday and will be in private.

JOHNSON - The funeral of Mrs. Helen Johnson, who passed away Wednesday morning at Mercy hospital was held Thursday afternoon, with services at the home, 268 Division street, at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Mr. Patton was in charge. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. (Oshkosh Daily Northwestern, October 9, 1925)

Joseph Johnson, 80, of 632 Bay Shore Dr., died Sunday at 11:45 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, where he had been a patient three weeks. He was born June 22, 1878, in Canada, son of the late Joseph and Helen Johnson and had resided in Oshkosh for 60 years. He was employed by Paine Lumber Company and Morgan Company before his retirement. Mr. Johnson attended Trinity Episcopal Church. One daughter in Washington survives him.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mallery and Seefeld Funeral Home, with the Rev. William J. Spicer, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Tuesday at 3 p.m. until the hour of service. (Oshkosh Daily Northwestern, February 9, 1959)

Joseph Johnson, 81 years of age, died at his home, 261 Division street last night at 9 o'clock while sitting on his porch talking to members of his family. He had been troubled with heart disease and it is believed the cause of his death. He is survived by his wife, and three sons, Joseph, Jr., and John of this city and William of Rudyard, Mich. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Konrad chapel, Rev. W.J. Patton officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. (Oshkosh Daily Northwestern, July 24, 1920)

Mrs. Louise Johnson, 72, who had resided in Alvin, Texas since 1953, died Saturday at 10:30 p.m. at the home of her daughter Mrs. Frank J. Schneider, 340 Guenther St. She was born January 5,1892 in Winchester. Daughter of Ole and Julia Bockin and was married on November 23, 1910. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. George Springborn, Mrs. Schneider and Mrs. John Paulick, Oshkosh; three sons, Clayton Johnson, Alvin, Texas., Waldo Johnson, Oshkosh and Knute Johnson, Tucson, Arizona; four brothers, John Bockin, Weyauwega, Samuel Bockin, Winchester and Ben Bockin, Dale; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester, with the Rev. Vernon Kessler officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Konrad Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. today and during the evening. The body will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 1-2 p.m.

Morris J. Johnson, 72, formerly of Oshkosh, died Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at his home in Alvin, Texas. He was born in the Town of Clayton (Winnebago County), Wisconsin on February 6, 1891 and was married to Miss Louise Bockin on November 23, 1910. They moved to Texas about 10 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Louise; two sons, Waldo Johnson, Oshkosh and Knute Johnson, Tucson, Ariz; three daughters, Mrs. George Springborn, Mrs. John Paulick and Mrs. Frank Schneider, Oshkosh; two brothers, Gilbert Johnson, Fond du Lac and Birdell Johnson, Larsen; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Malauf, Green Bay, Mrs. Mabel C. Becker, Fremont and Mrs. Gustave Duetz, Fond du Lac, 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, nieces and newphews. Preceding him in death were one son Morris, Jr. in 1935; two brothers, Knute and John and one sister Alma Rommer.
The remains were taken to Konrad Funeral Home and services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran church, Winchester. Burial will be at the church cemetery (Grace Lutheran - Winnebago County - Wisconsin). Friends called at church Monday from 1:00 op.m. until the hour of service.

OLD RESIDENT OF WINNECONNE DIES
Winneconne, Wis. --- (Special) -- Albert J. Johnston, 81 years of age died at his home Saturday evening at 8:20. Mr. Johnston had been a sufferer with asthma and had been in ill health for 40 years. Two months ago his condition became worse. The deceased was born in New York state, coming to Fond du Lac when a young boy. Later he moved to Winneconne where he had lived for the last 30 years. For about 30 years he took care of boats on local waters. He served as village marshal for many years until his retirement about five years ago. Survivors are the wife Mrs. Tina Johnston, two daughters, Mrs. Emil Boll, Milwaukee and Mrs. Robert Wall, Seattle, and one son Elty Johnston, whose whereabouts are unknown. The funeral is to be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home. Rev. O.P. Lovik will be in charge. The Odd Fellows lodge of which Mr. Johnston was a member will also conduct services. Interment will be in the Winneconne cemetery.

MRS. JOHNSTON DEAD

Winneconne -- Mrs. Mary Johnston, widow of the late Captain Johnston, passed away at her home here, Thursday afternoon at the age of 61 years. Mrs. Johnston had been ailing for about a year. Surviving are two sons, Wilfred and Edward and one daughter, Mrs. John Shawano. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence. Burial will be at the village cemetery.
