I am looking for anyone who would have information as to the prior/current owners of my grandparents home from 1960 to 1972 (sold) located (according to the closing statement) as follows: lots 57, 58 and 59 Protheore Plat Town(ship) Mt. Morris WAUSHARA COUNTY, Wild Rose. OMER BASINGER and LOUELLA PRICE BASINGER, my grandparents, both passed on in WILD ROSE in 1970. Their home had lake rights to HILL(S) LAKE and when down at the lake off to your left was a Boy Scout Camp. Their home, in 1970, when coming from Wild Rose town was located on your right hand side, corner lot, sat back on the lot and was surrounded by tall pine trees. I, also, remember a riding stable on your left hand ? side when coming from town. Anyway, their home was sold to a FRANCIS FOLEY on June 3, 1972 who was from Menominee Falls, Wisconsin. Attorney, E.E. HUMPHREY (nice man) from Wautoma handled their Estate and sale of their home. Their home was sold "as is" and may have contained personal family possessions. According to my mother, their was a trunk located on the side enclosed porch which she believes contained family photos, etc. Anyone with any info would be greatly appreciated. Maybe it was given/sold to a local antique dealer or such.

Anyway I do remember a family (families) by the name of SEARLES that either lived across the road or down the road going towards Hill(s) Lake. I, also, remember that the people that lived across the road either used to sell eggs and/or had a chicken farm - no, I think, it used to be a sideroad restaurant that served chicken??? I was only 9 years old, when they passed on, so I will talk to my mother and maybe get more info for you.

In Response To: Location of Cem. Wild Rose (Brian Staples)

Brian, I added names to both lists for cemeteries in Waushara Co. I've been there many times, as ALL of my great grandparents lived in Waushara and Portage Co. Plainfield Cemetery is on a back road, I believe the road is BB out of Plainfield towards Bancroft. West and then East. Its only about a mile out of Plainfield. The Bardwell Cemetery and the Ray cemtery are just out of Plainfield to the East. Wild Rose cemeteries are Union cemetery just to the South of Wild Rose about a mile or so. Mt. Pleasant cemetery is to the South also but not as far as Union and Oak Hill is right on the Northern edge of Wild Rose as you come in on AA. I hope this helps. If not let me know and we will see about trying to help out a different way. Donna
