Three Lakes Genealogical Society 
Minutes Ð27 June, 2016 

Members Present: Les Anderson, Robert and Nancy Bailey, Marge Behling, Maureen Brand, 
Nancy Brewster, Irene Farkas, Sue Henderson, Mary Hitchcock, Robert Killick, and 
Charlene Roberts 

Guests present: Dale Hitchcock, Joyce Mogytych, Carol Patterson, and Joanne Wargolet 

Vice-President Nancy Brewster called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. 

The minutes were corrected to Nancy Brewster Ð VicePresident, not Treasurer. They were approved as corrected. 

Treasurer Robert Bailey reported there was no activity in the TLGS account since the last meeting.
 
Old Business: 

¥ Heritage Fest 

Sue Henderson, Maureen Brand, and Noreen Rossa were at the booth in the morning. About four people met with them. 

Les Anderson, Marge Behling, and Nancy Brewster were at the booth in the afternoon. About five people met with them. 

They made good contacts. 

Mary Hitchcock said we need more organization for this project Ð list of what is needed including brochures. More pre-planning is needed. 

Possibly a committee should be formed - maybe with the TLGS Board. 

¥ Microfilm/microfiche digital scanner 

The goal was surpassed. TLGS members donated $2600 and the Three Lakes Historical Society donated $3500. These amounts added to the money already in the TLPLF were enough to purchase the best scanner and other needed items. 

¥ Future Programs 


July 25 Ð 2nd part of making a genealogy book in Shutterfly.com Ð presented by Noreen Rossa 

August 22 Ð Erica Brewster will discuss DNA/Ireland. 

A future program will be presented by Marie Byatt. It will discuss Family Websites. 

?Webinars from the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society. 

¥ Les Anderson talked about the website Ð saying we need to decide how we want to present the website. 

New Business: 

¥ The bylaws need to be revised. Marie Byatt, Irene Farkas and Nancy Bailey will review the bylaws and present suggested changes to the membership. 
¥ In September, we will elect new officers. 


The nominating committee will be appointed at the August meeting, and the slate will be distributed to our members two weeks before the September meeting. 

Robert Bailey has offered to continue as Treasurer. 

¥ People are welcome to contact Noreen Rossa, our Sunshine Chair, about needs of our members Ð health, bereavement, etc. 

Brick Walls and Successes were discussed. 

The next meeting will be at 1:00 p.m. on July 25 in the Community Room of the Demmer Memorial Library in Three Lakes. 

The program will be the 2nd part of Noreen RossaÕs presentation about how to design a genealogy book on Shutterly.com. 

The meeting adjourned at 1:45 p.m.
