Chas. Vosburg Died
Monday Morning at Ten O'clock
Funeral Probably Thursday
Another old veteran has passed away and one by one they are going. Isaac J Vosburgh was born May7th, 1843 at Felts Mills, Jefferson County, New York. When he was a small boy he came with his parents to Greenbush, this state where they lived for sometime. At the time of the Civil War he was living at Green Bay. He enlisted the 12th of December, 1861 in Co. G, 2nd Reg. Calvary of Green Bay, and served faithfully for four long years.
Mr. Vosburgh was married April 14th, 1864 to Frances Ellis of Bloomington, Ills., at Rolla, Mo. Three children were born to them. William, Mrs. Cora Fowles of this city, and Mrs. George Reed of Kalmath Falls, Oregon, also six grandchildren.
Mr. Vosburgh was always known as Charles Vosburgh, although Isaac was his given name, he never went by it here. He came to Shawano forty-seven years ago and has made his home here since, with the exception of two years he spent on the Mississippi river. He was a painter and a paper hanger by trade but had not worked at that for the past few years. He was an active G.A.R. man and always took deep interest in the doings of his old associates. He was well liked by all. The funeral will probably he held Thursday, his daughter from Oregon is expected then.
