Personal – H. L. Murray, of Huntington, Indiana, has been spending a few days in town visiting his friends and relatives. Mr. Murray is a brother of Julius A. Murray, of this place, and was one of the first white settlers in this county, he having located here in 1851. He is a very agreeable gentleman, and we hope in future he will make his visits more frequent.

The steamer Erie, Capt. Allender, arrived at the “Powell Landing” yesterday, loaded with goods for our merchants. She had a barge in tow, which was also loaded with goods.
Mr. J.D. Kast, the flour man, has just out into his mill a “turbine” water-wheel, which we learn, supersedes all other water-wheels, on account of its great force of revolution at a very small expense of water.
Ira Fuller has brought out Mr. Stevens, and is now carrying on the picture-gallery business. He takes very fine pictures, judging from the numerous customers that daily call on him.
