LaVerne Tomashek

LaVerne Tomashek, age 100, of W6181 Church Road, Town of Waukechon, passed away Sat, Jul 23, 2005 at a local nursing home.                                                                                                                                

 She was born on Mar 25, 1905 in the Town of Waukechon, the daughter of the late Adolph and Mary (Rusch) Jantz.  On Feb 20, 1928 she was united in marriage to Charles M Tomashek.  He preceded her in death on July 13, 1980. 

   

LaVerne was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano and a former member of St Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Town of Waukechon. She was the Salutation of the Shawano High School class of 1924 and taught school in the Tigerton area for 3 years.  She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens and loved taking care of her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her daughter Mary (Russel) Pleshek of Shawano and son James (Judy) Tomashek of Shawano, grandchildren: David (Carolyn), Scott (Stephanie), Mark (Maggie), Amy, and Todd Tomashek, Kathleen (Eric) Howard, Joan Pleshek, Karin (David) Hanson, Michelle Pleshek and Steven (Tammy) Pleshek; great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Claire, Elizabeth, Lily Ann, Marcus, Drew, Sage and Joshua Tomashek, Heather (Phil) Morin, Mandy Marquette, Jeremy Pleshek, Steven Pleshek Jr, Ryan Ohrmundt, Serra Westphal, Macy Westphal, Jacob Hanson; great-great grandchildren, Zachary Morin, Mackenzie Morin and Ethan Marquette.  She is further survived by a sister, Gertrude Flood of Shawano. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, her son Charles, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.                                                                                 

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tue, Jul 26, 2005 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev Len Evers officiating. 

Burial will be in St Wenceslaus Cemetery in the Town of Waukechon.  

Friends and relations may call at the church from 9 am on Tue until the time of services.
