John Nelson

John Nelson, 92, Wittenberg, died Sat evening, July 8, having been seriously ill for the past 3 months.

The son of Mr and Mrs Nels Nelson, he was born in Holsen, Norway, on Dec 10, 1879.  He came to the United States in 1900 settling in Rhinelander, then moving to Stoughton.  He was employed at the Nash Motor Company in Kenosha from 1915 to 1954 when he came to Wittenberg.  He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wittenberg.  He never married.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Tue at the Homme Home Chapel in Wittenberg with Chaplain Reuben Carlson officiating.  Burial will be in the Redeemer Church Cemetery.

Survivors are nephews Nels Nelson of Wausau and Norman Nelson of Menomonee Falls and a niece Mrs Alice Kriesel, Rt 1, Tigerton.  Besides his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Wittenberg this evening and until 12 o’clock noon on Tue and then at the chapel until the time of the services.
