Former Area Resident Dies

 

Mrs Richard Giese, Sr, 91, Loyal, died Wed, Jun 28, at Neillsville.  She was born Feb 27, 1881 in Bonduel and grew up in that community.  She had clerked in a general store in Cecil before her marriage to Richard Giese Dec 25, 1909.

Mr Giese was a cheesemaker at Withee, returning to Loyal, after retirement, where the couple lived for the past 15 years.  Mrs Giese was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star.  She was a member of the Past Matron’s Club, the Rebekah Lodge and served as president of the Women’s Society of Christian Service of Loyal Methodist Church for a number of years.

Survivors are her husband, 2 sons, Edward of Rice Lake and Richard, Jr of Middleton; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Fri at 2 pm at the Loyal United Methodist Church with the Rev Eugene Antrim officiating.  Interment will be in the Loyal Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Roycraft Funeral Home at Loyal after noon today (Thur).  The O.E.S. service will be at 8 pm this evening.
