Mailahn/Meilahn Cemetery

This land was owned by Charles Mailahn. Reuben Kucksdorf now (1984) owns the property. It is located just south of the farmhouse and overgrown with lilac brush and old trees. Many of the stones have fallen and are buried under the roots. Permission is freely given to cross their land if one asks at the farmhouse. Many children buried here who died during the diphtheria epidemic of 1880 - 1881.
Names marked in * do not have stones. Names marked in * are the children of Wm. & M Springborn. The dates say these children died in 1879 but it may have been 1880, since they are named in the 1880 census. Dates or stones may have been added at a later time.
