Out of 535 Burials in the back of the church, (see pictures below) it seems there was a great loss during the influenza out break, losing 71 people between 1912-1919
Also a Diphtheria outbreak in 1895 See Newspaper Accounts below
There are a few unknown stones listed under Unknown we were not able to find out who they were.
Wittenberg Diphtheria Outbreak
Shawano County JournalThursday, Aug. 8, 1895
Wittenberg. Thirty one cases of diphtheria have been reported at the Norwegian Orphan Home up to today. One death resulted from the disease yesterday, the first one thus far, a girl about 14 years of age.

Wittenberg, The total number of children who have been sick with Diphtheria at the Orphan Home is 54, of whom 4 have died.
August 29, 1895
WITTENBERG. Diphtheria has not yet run its course at the Orphan home. One new case, one death, and some patients very seriously ill, is the report at this writing.
September 19, 1895
WITTENBERG. One more death has resulted from diphtheria at the Orphan Home last week.
September 26, 1895
WITTENBERG, The diphtheria at the Orphan Home has subsided and the quarantine was removed last Saturday.
