RICKERD, Ralph (picture 1)
Spring Valley, Wis.  The first Spring Valley man to enlist.  Joined Co. H, 3rd Wis. Inf., on March 26, 1917, at Menomonie, Wis.  Trained at Waco, Texas.  Went overseas with Co. I, 28th Inf., 32nd Div.  Killed in action July 18, 1918.
STEIN, Robert C. (picture 2)
Spring Valley, Wis.  Joined the colors Oct. 1, 1918, at Ellsworth, Wis.  Assigned for training to Jefferson Barracks, Mo.  died Oct. 14, 1918, at Post Hospital, Jefferson Barracks, from pneumonia.  (brother Albert below)
STEIN, Albert L. (picture 3)
Spring Valley, Wis.  Joined the colors Sept. 4, 1918, at Ellsworth, Wis.  Trained at Camp Grant, Ill., and at Camp Hancock, Ga.  Died from pneumonia Oct. 5, 1918.  (brother Robert above)
SNYDER, E.F.L. (picture 4)
Ellsworth, Wis.  Enlisted at Minneapolis, Minn., in April, 1918, in air service as a mechanic.  Trained at Kelley Field, San Antonio, Texas.  Later transferred to Dayton, Ohio.  Met death at that place in Oct., 1918, while starting his motor.
VOLESKY, Lewis (no picture)
Joined the colors Sept. 2, 1918, at Ellsworth, Wis.  Was assigned to 161st Depot Brigade at Camp Grant, Ill.  Died from influenza Oct. 28, 1918, at Camp Hancock, Ga.  No photo available.
WURTZ, Edward (picture 5)
Rock Elm, Wis.  Joined the colors April 29, 1918, at Ellsworth, Wis.  Was assigned to 25th Co., 161st Depot Brigade, at Camp Grant, Ill.  Later transferred to Battery D, 331st F.A.  Died at Camp Grant from influenza Oct. 21, 1918.
