* ROCK ISLAND #3/SAND BEACH CEMETERY*

INDEX - 1972

updated 2 Oct 2009

* YOU WILL FIND THE LOCATION OF ROCK ISLAND CEMETERY #3 ON THE TOWN OF WASHINGTON MAPS PAGE! *

LOCATION:  Rock Island Cemetery #3 is located on the Southern side of Rock Island.  It is known as the Sand Beach Cemetery since apparently that is what it was originally called.  The trees have since grown up over the area.  According to the caretaker, it was an Indian burying ground long before white settlers began using it. *Information from John KAHLERT in 1972.

In 1972 the cemetery was copied by Mr. Robert H. RASCHIG.  In addition to that information, John KAHLERT supplied other names that were found in **Conan Bryant EATON's book: "Rock Island".

Retyped by Sue HOHNEKE for the PGS Website on 2 Oct 2009.  Dates have been converted to read: dd-mmm-yyyy for uniformity on the PGS Website.
