You will find the location of the Baileys Harbor Town Cemetery on the Town of Baileys Harbor Maps Page.

LOCATIONBaileys Harbor Town Cemetery: NW corner NE 1/4 NW 1/4 Section 19.  About 1.3 miles from the Village of Baileys Harbor on County Trunk EE, at the corner of County Trunk EE and Cherry Road.  (Note: plat map in 1970's calls it "Winneger Road".)

St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Cemetery:  NE Corner NE 1/4 NW 1/4 Section 19, Town of Baileys Harbor.  The Baileys Harbor Town Cemetery is the north section and St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Cemetery is the south section, but there is no visible dividing line as to where either ends, so they are put together on the index.  They are in very good condition and well maintained.

Advocate: Nels John ANDERSON (6 Nov 1849-13 Nov 1923)-BAILEYS HARBOR- Nels John ANDERSON Dies-On Tuesday of last week, November 13th, Nels John ANDERSON was called to that "bourne from which no traveler returneth."-He was 74 years old at the time of his death and was born in Sweden-united in marriage in 1871 to Inger JENSEN, the wedding taking place in Denmark-Ten years later the couple came to America to make their home, locating in this county-was preceded in death by his wife and four children and there are four children left to mourn: Nels P. ANDERSON, Christina BARNARD, Inger LOVERLESS, and August ANDERSON-Some time before his death Mr. Anderson met with an accident which resulted in his suffering a broken leg and it is believed that this had much to do with hastening his end-Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at which Rev. Franklin JORDAN officiated. Guy STEPHENSON, assistant in the H.J. Hahn undertaking establishment at Sturgeon Bay had charge of the funeral. A large number of neighbors and friends paid their last tribute of respect by attending the rites-H. J. Advocate-18 Jul 1919, P. 6: Inger Kirstine (JENSEN) ANDERSON (27 Nov 1847-11 Jul 1919) BAILEYS HARBOR- Mrs. Inga JOHNSON (born Inger Kirstine JENSEN**) who died a few days ago was buried from the town hall here Monday afternoon, Rev. Mason, of Ellison Bay officiating. Her death was caused from cancer. She was born in Denmark in 1836, and was 73 years old. She came to this country a number of years ago and together with her husband made a home on a farm on the state road. Six children and a husband are left to mourn the loss of a good mother and faithful companion.(**Note: Place of burial for Nels and Inger is listed on their death certificates as Baileys Harbor, Wis. ORSTED, 91, Fish Creek, died Sunday, January 24, 2010.  He was born in Baileys harbor on 18 Nov 1918, the son of Gardner and Tracy (SCHRAM) ORSTED.  He worked on his parent's farm until serving in the Eighth Army Air Corp as a Technical Sergeant, flying in 35 missions over Europe during WWII.  He married Patricia WENNIGER in Algoma on 24 Jun 1950..Over the years, he worked as a commercial fisherman, dairy farmer, construction worker and mason.  He was a member of VFW Post 9290.  Survivors include his loving wife, Pat, and 9 children: Greg (Ida) ERVIN, of Baileys Harbor; Pattie (Richard) CZARNECKI, Sturgeon Bay; Debbie (Tom) KNAUER, Iola; Clifford, Egg Harbor; Michele ISAACSON, Edina, MN; Keith (Heidi), Oconomowoc, Mark (Laurie), Batavia, IL; Marty, Palm Springs, CA; nine grandchildren and five great-grandsons.  Also surviving are sisters, Wilma BIWER, Elaine (Ed) ZAHN, Joyce (Wayne) HUSSONG, Joan SLABY (companion Dennis); brothers: Dale, Gardner (Margaret); sisters-in-law Dixie and Delores; brother-in-law, Wayne RAETHER; cousins: Gordy, Earl and Gene SCHRAM; and many nieces and nephews.  Orval was preced in death by newborn son Joseph, brothers: John, Edward, Alvin, Ervin and Earl; sisters-in-law Marie, and Elizabeth RAETHER; in-laws Cliff and Mabel WENNIGER.  A Mass of Christian Burial..celebrated at Stella Maris Church of Baileys Harbor (Saint Mary's of the Lake) on Wednesday, 27 Jan 2010...Orval's cremains will be inurned at a later daate at the Baileys Harbor Cemetery..CASPERSON Funeral Home"

Advocate-Thurs. 21 Dec 1950: Stanley RAZA-Gibraltar-The Rev. james MCCARTIN, O.M.I., will read the requiem mass-Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Mary of the Lake church, Baileys Harbor, for Stanley RAZA., 67, Gibraltar, who died Tuesday at the Memorial hospital.  Complications and a kidney disorder caused his death after a three week illness.  Mr. RAZA , born Feb 17, 1883 in Gibraltar, was the son the the late Mr. and Mrs. John RAZA.  He was married to Sofia KACZMARAK, Jan 7, 1919, in Milwaukee.  During his lifetime, Mr. TAZA was engaged in dairy farming.  he is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Adam (Eleanor) HARTUNG Jr., Mrs. Ernest (Ruth) HOUSE and Miss Loraine RAZA all of Milwaukee; four sisters, Mrs. Mary WIECZOREK, Mrs. martha LEVANDOASKI, and Mrs. josephine WOODS, all of Milwaukee and Mrs. Nettle BILECKI,, Gaylord, Mich., and three grandchildren..Burial will be at the Baileys Harbor Catholic cemetery.  The CASPERSON Funeral home, Sister, is handling the arrangements."
