NOTES
1. Francis E Washburn buried in Weedsport Rural Cemetery, Weedsport, Cayuga Co, NY. His stone says he died 8-4-20, age 73, "Co. H, 33 Wis Vol. Inf." He died at Rochester, Monroe Co NY, and was brought back to Brutus / Weedsport for burial. The Weedsport cemetery listings, which give a reading of his gravestone are online at: https://sites.rootsweb.com/~nycayuga/cem/cem16.htm He was actually from Buchanan Co, Iowa, and must have been visiting relatives, perhaps in Lake Co IL, when he enlisted on 5 Jan 1864 at the age of "almost" 17. Perhaps he fabricated his residence as "Kenosha" in the same manner as he fabricated his age ! He returned to Buchanan Co IA after the war, and went on to have a long life. CONTRIBUTOR: Kathryn Wells
2. Jessie Marvin Hughes was in the Civil War (Civil War, Pvt. Co. G, 43rd Infantry). He was born Sept. 15, 184 in Somers, Racine Co., WI (Now Kenosha Co.). He died Sept. 2, 1917 in Clarinda, Iowa and is buried at the Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, Iowa. CONTRIBUTOR: Joyce S. March
