George and Theresa Zaph Pias are standing in the back.

In the back is sister to the bride Bertha Yandt and Charles Kopp. Just a little story to pass on with this one if you know anyone that wants it. Christ Pias seemed to be a bit of a drinker and still lived at home with his mother and brother Ben (Ben had polio and had to be taken care of). Christs mother Theresa had a long bed stay before she died and they asked a neighbor girl (Anna Yandt) to move in and take care of her. Theresa was a devout Catholic and had been upset when 2 of her sons married Engbarth girls. They didn't consider the Engbarths to be "Catholic enough". Anna Yandt was a Lutheran but over the months Theresa Pias grew to love Anna and saw how well she took care of her and her two sons. She asked her on her death bed to marry Christ and "straighten him out" and to take care of crippled Ben. Anna promised and married Christ that year after Theresa died. Anna had already been engaged to a man and he was building her a "fine home" in Kensoha but she kept her promise to a dying woman and took care of her sons for the rest of her life and was happy. I was told this by Anna's daughter in law. She said Anna told her the story and took her to the home that the fiancee had been building but she never regretted her decision.

Frances Pias says:
Christoph Pias came to America from Prussia in 1856. He married Theresa Kling of Bavaria in 1862. She had come to America in 1852 and had lived first in Chicago. They had 9 children and raised a nephew Joe Meyer. Joe was an alderman of Kenosha and also Sheriff. Two of Christophs sons didn't marry and I don't have the wedding pics for another 2 sons. They lived and raised their children at 154 Bronson St (now 502-43rd St). I would assume the kids married at St Georges since that was where the went and are buried there.
