Information from pension papers of Nehemiah Morse

Elizabeth Dobbs And Eliza Dobbs bring by me first duly sworn on their oaths say that they have been well acquainted with Mary S. Morse and her husband, Nehemiah Morse up to the time of his death in the US Service. We know that the said Mary S. Morse has by her deceased husband now living three children aged and named as follows to wit. Frank F. Morse who was born on the 4th day of June, 1857. John D. Morse who was born on the 2nd day of December, 1858. Both were born in Winnebago County, Illinois. We were present at the time of the birth of each. We were not present at the time Eva May Morse was born. The above are the only legitimate children of the said Mary Morse and her deceased husband now living. We know that she has not remarried since the death of her husband nor has she abandoned the support of any of the children above named nor permitted anyone for which increase is claimed to be adopted by any other person or persons as his her or their child and that the said Nehemiah Morse left surviving him no minor children by a former marriage. We have no interest in the claim of Mary S. Morse for increase of pension.
