Died at his residence in Green Lake, 21st of March 1869, after a lingering illness, John Wright, in the 50th year of his age. Etc. . . . 3 Apr.

Sad Accident: We learn from Mr Hugh Burns, that his brother William, whom many of our townsmen knew, met with a horrible death in CA, on the 2d day of March. Mr. Burns had been in the mining business since his residence in that state, and had just opened a new mine near Ione City. As he was about entering the mine, he was advised by a comrade not to go too far, but did not take the advice, and went in the mine; he had been there but a short time, when the bank caved in upon him, instantly killing him. 1 May

In this village, May 29th, 1869, Phebe Jane, wife of Hiram McIntyre, in the 29th year of her age, of consumption. Phebe Jane Sargent was born in Lisle, Broome Co. NY, July 9th, 1840. Came west with her parents and grandparents when six years of age. At fifteen, her mother died of consumption, which was not only a deep affliction but a most severe bereavement, causing a shadow that never was wholly removed. The father married again but failed to find a mother for the children, who with their grandparents sought a home as best they could, receiving no sympathy from the stranger that ruled their father's house. The spring after the loss of her mother, Jennie became the subject of "saving grace", was, with her father and one sister, happily converted to God, and joined the M E Church where they lived, then under the pastorate of Rev R Moffett, preacher in charge. Having obtained a liberal education, she was enabled to teach in common schools with acceptance. For eight full terms she thus labored caring for the old people and the younger children, generally boarding at home, walking nearly three miles in one instance to her school and returning each day, doing the home work, thus trying to sustain a home associated with heart sorrow and many a sore trial from which she found no relief, until her removal to Princeton, in which "she herself declared" were the happiest days of all her life. Among her acquaintances here, she found valued friends who often visited her bedside during her protracted illness, anticipating her wants and my many a dish of choice dainties, and bouquets of early flowers from the field and house, giving fragrance and cheer to the sick room she was so long to occupy. When the last enemy came she was not surprised, calling for her "Father to come quickly," she entered the conflict whispering back a message to loved ones and pointing upwards, passed away to the better clime. 5 June

Sudden Death - We learn from Jerome Harrington, that the Rev. Ziba Boynton, of Kingston, was stricken down with apoplexy on Sunday last, expiring a little after noon. He had been in usual health up to the day of his death. His loss will be severely felt in that village, as he was beloved by all. 17 July

Mrs. Loomis, the kind hearted and affectionate mother of C W and H G Loomis of this village, died at the residence of her son Charles on Sat morning last, in her 77th year, after a lingering and painful illness of many weeks. 7 Aug.

Runaway and Death: Monday afternoon Father Dale, Catholic priest of Berlin, had driven his team in front of the Jarvis House, and left it in charge of a little boy. One of the horses soon rubbed his bridle off, when both started, first making a circle in the street then striking down water street at a full run. At the bridge, the seat and buffalo robe were tipped into the river, and the boy who still clung to the lines was thrown to the other side upon the bridge cutting his head pretty badly but not seriously. At the same time the horses became disengaged from the wagon, and were caught at the residence of Mr John Knapp, unharmed. So far little blood and no life was lost, but we are sorry to chronical the fact that as Mrs. Biddy was crossing the street, Mr M Wicks who had taken Dr. Millard in his buggy and driving rapidly after the runaway team to care for the boy should he be hurt, ran over the poor old lady, causing instant death. She leaves a large flock of little unfledged chickens to morn her untimely fate. 14 Aug.

Suicide: We learn from R P Rawson Esq., that Dr. Milligan of Plainfield, committed suicide in his room on Tues. morning last, by cutting his throat with a razor. The doctor, who was quite an aged man, had suffered for some time with paralysis, and was very despondent, and feeble. Beyond this, no reason is assigned for taking his own life. 14 Aug.

At his residence in the town of Princeton, Nov 6th, 1869, of a peculiar form of that dread disease, consumption, Myron T Barber, in the 47th year of his age. 20 Nov.

Accident: We learn that Messrs. Frank Hake and Frank Davis, of Marquette, met with a serious accident in shape of a runaway last Sat, as they were journeying to Waukau, caused by the breaking of the clip which holds up the tongue of the wagon. Their horses became frightened, and ran away, throwing both parties out of the wagon. Hake receiving such a severe fall as to render him insensible for some moments, while Davis had an ankle dislocated. Hake also received some slight internal injury. We understand that both boys were well cared for by kind friends, although they were some distance from home. 8 May

Notice: Is hereby given that William Schaal, my husband, has cruelly deserted me, leaving me entirely destitute, and without any means of support, and not satisfied with this dastardly treatment, has sought to further injure me and blacken my fair name by foul insinuations, against my character as a wife, by publishing me to the world as unworthy of his love and esteem. I beg to refer all the acts of my past life to the severest criticism of all the good people of Princeton who have known me from childhood, and upon their verdict will I rest content, satisfied that they will lay the blame where it justly belongs. In this connection, I desire to return my sincerest thanks to the many friends who have manifested a kindly sympathy in my great trouble. Mary A Schaal, Princeton, June 19, 1869.
