TOWN OF CASTLE ROCK

JOHN JOHNSON, Jr., Postmaster, merchant and blacksmith, Castle Rock, is one of the leading citizens of this place; he was born in 1839, in Norway, son of John and Anna Johnson; he came to the United States in 1853, locating in Iowa Co., Wis., near Dodgeville, for two years; thence going to Montfort for two years; then to Castle Rock, where he has since lived. Has kept the post office for a number of years. He was married Oct. 3, 1868, to Huldah E. Richards, a daughter of Solomon and Catherine Richards, and has four children - Herbert J., Willie R., Roy B., Mabel. He was Chairman of Twon Board for two years, and School Clerk for nine years; owns 382 acres of land; in politics, is a Republican.
