GEORGE CLEMENTSON, attorney at law, is a native of England, and was born March 13, 1842. His parents came to this country in 1859; came West to Wisconsin the same year, and located in Grant Co.; grew up and received his education in this State. Read law here and completed his law studies at the State University of Michigan; was admitted to the bar in March, 1868; after his admission, he engaged in the practice of law. In November, 1869, he associated with Hon. Allen Barber, and since then he has successfully practiced his profession in this and adjoining counties, and the firm of Barber & Clementson has a leading position as members of the bar in this section of the State. In the fall of 1868, was elected District Attorney, and held that office for four years. Since then he has been repeatedly solicited to accept of the nomination for office, but has steadily refused, preferring to devote all of his time to the interests of his profession. He was united in marriage, May 10, 1869, to Miss Mary Burr, a native of Vermont; they have four children - George B., Joseph A., Martha and Bessie.
