TOWN OF WINGVILLE

MRS. MARGARET CHANEY, Centerville, Iowa Co.; widow of Ezekiel Chaney, who was born in Kentucky about 1820; his parents emigrated to Illinois when he was a boy; he came at an early day to the mining regions of this part of the State of Wisconsin. He was married in Iowa Co. to Mrs. John Russell, formerly Miss Hughes. Mr. Chaney followed the occupation of mining for many years. He enlisted in 1861 in the 11th W. V. I.; was severely wounded at the siege of Vicksburg, and died at Memphis, Tenn., in the fall of 1863. Mrs. Chaney has three children by her first husband; she had five by second marriage, four of whom are living - William H., Lewis, Isabelle and Clara; all born in Iowa Co.; William H. was born at Centerville in 1855.
