Great efforts were made in the preparations for the end of the year Speech Day celebration of the Theresa school. An extensive program was put together and the first part consisted of declamation, recitation, songs, etc. Among others performances were given of "A Picnic" by 16 students, "The Lost Dog" (7 students), "The Doctor and The Patient" (2 students), "Keine Hausirer Gewuenscht" (4 students). The last part consisted of performances by the graduates as follows: 1. Class song; 2. "Lincoln's deeds surpass Washington's" , Heinrich Bodden; 3. "Beautiful Moonlight," a duet by Albertine Tolzmann and Edith Simon; 4. Speech: "The History of Theresa" by Victor Weber; 5. A trio by Misses Katie Buhr, Julia Horey and Anna Guenther; 6. Speech: "The History of the Public School in Theresa," by Benjamin Lentz; 7. Duet by Victor and Camilla Weber, entitled: "What are the wild waves saying?" 8. Distribution of diplomas by Prof. C. L. Parduhn, 9. Music of the Theresa Amateur Band. The graduates are Peter Langenfeld, Benjamin Lentz, Adolf Lehmann, Heinrich Bodden, Victor Weber, Willie Tolzmann, Julia Horey, Anna Guenther and Katie Buhr. Peter Langenfeld is the first to have completed the courses, as he was prescribed on the 6th of September 1895 by the school inspector; the rest have done a "Common School Course" as it is prescribed in the rules and regulations of the school administration of Dodge County.
