Dorothea had children with Mr. RAY: William, b. 3/24/1855; Anna M., b. 12/9/1856; John William, b. 3/20/1860; and Margaret Elizabeth, b. 9/30/1861. Mr. RAY then died or otherwise disappeared and Dorothea re-married Frederick Carl Christian SHROEDER and the children took the name SHROEDER. Am seeking info on Mr. RAY. Have been told there is a marriage index listing for a Benjamin D. Ray, m. Dec 1, 1854, Dodge Co. but no listing in index of wife's name. POC for Area Research Center given was <[email protected]> but e:mail bounces. Can anyone tell if this marriage of Benjamin D. RAY was to Dorothea CHRISTENSEN? tia, John Shroeder

I am searching for the parents of Mary HOFFE(HOFF)(HOFFA) who married Martin GLASSMAN circa 1874. The 1900 census shows Martin and Mary as being married in 1874(for 26 years). I went to the Dodge County Register of Deeds on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996, but their records do not start until 1877. Mary's death record shows one of the spellings, with her father listed as Andrew. She supposedly emigrated into the USA circa 1855, with Martin coming into the country circa 1860. I have been unable to find any immigration listings for either GLASSMAN or HOFFE(or similar) for Dodge County.

They are in Green Lake county in 1860. Divorce! having taken place, with the mother Phoebe Owen Pratt remarrying Erastus FINNEY in Beaver Dam.
After the 1860 census I loose track of all of the family. Phoebe died in @ 1862 per the Beaver Dam paper. Fanny married Charles Wesley WELCH maybe in the 1850s. He served in the Civil War from the Berlin Company, 5th Infantry. For 1870 and beyond I find no record of Major Pratt, his second wife Sarah, or Fanny Pratt Welch and her husband.
Family oral history has it that they had twins. Later relatives from the Minneapolis area report their existance, Fanny had stricking red hair. Thanks for any clues on this family.

Still looking for info on James SNOW III, died in Lowell, Dodge Co, Wisconsin on 22 Sept 1872. Also need info on his daughter, Hulda Emmeline (SNOW) REED who married Otis Elbridge Reed. As far as I know, both Hulda and Otis died in Lowell as well. I need to find out James III parents and more about Hulda. She may have been a twin to Luther, born and died same year as Hulda was born, (1822). Both Hulda and her father James III were born in MASS. I have a nice history of the migration of that family from Mass to Ohio then into Wisconsin if anyone would like to have a copy. Describes conditions in 1845.
