I am seeking information on Paul DUCHARME and his family. He and his brother Dominique DuCharme were the first permanent settlers of Outagamie County. Dominique settled at Kaukauna in 1790/1793 and established a Trading post with the menomonees and chippewas. His brother Paul soon joined him. dominique sold out to Paul in 1803 and returned to Montreal. Paul later, became indebted and had to sell his interests to Judge Lawe and returned to GreenBay, WI. Paul married a Menomonee woman and they had a son Jean Marie Ducharme born @1806. I appreciate any information or guidance (as to where to look) for information on him and his family.

In the 1895 Wisconsin census there is a Niels JORGENSEN living in New Denmark (line 17, v226_10). It appears he is living with 2 females, one born in US. I can't read the birth place of the other two people. I have just found that my Niels Jorgensen lived in Wisconsin from 1889-1897, he was Danish. I would like to find out more about this person by that name in Wisconsin in 1895. Any help would be appreciated. Even proof that this is not my Niels Jorgensen. thanks

Their names were ;John GRAY, wife Mary Gray nee BARKHOUSE, Son Francis who married a girl Isabel PRINGLE out there, Daughter Margaret and her husband Thomas PUNCHEON, and daughter Mary and her husband John GUY.
