Long Time Resident Dies This Morning--J.B. Bince (Vince) Succumbs at Home of His Daughter

After being a resident of Green Bay for over half a century, J.B. Bince (Vince) died at 10:15 this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B. DeBaker, Bungener apartments, Monroe and Cherry St.  He had been in poor health for some time.

Mr. Vince was born in Belgium near Brussels in 1829 and came to this country when a young man, shortly after his marriage.  He and his bride settled in Dykesville and engaged in farming, from which he retired about 15 years ago, following the death of his wife.  When Mr. and Mrs. Vince came to Dykesville, the country was practically a wilderness, inhabited only by Indians and a few settlers.

The young couple hewed a farm out of the woods, and on it reared their family.  Four daughters survive:  Mrs. DeBaker, Mrs. J.B. Bardouche and Mrs. V. Mocco, of this city, and Mrs. Paul LeMay, of Marinette.  A fifth daughter, Mrs. A. Gruselle, died last May.  Seventeen grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed, but services will be held from SS Peter and Paul church, of which he was a member.
