USING THE CENSUS DATA PAGES -The INDEX to the Census Data Pages (below) contains the following headers:
ID# - each "head of household" or "single" has his own ID number
SURNAME -
GIVEN NAME -
STATUS - head of household; "other" MAY indicate someone boarding in another household
AGE -
OCCUPATION -When you find your "person of interest", note the ID number, then go to the CENSUS DATA PAGE that contains the census information for that ID number.
The 1880 Census used the word "SELF" to indicate the "Head of Household". These Data Pages use "HEAD". Washington Territory is abbreviated to "WATY". In MOST cases, "other" may mean that the indivudual was "boarding" in another household.
