    The Genealogical Society of South Whidbey Island Gary Zimmerman, of the Fiske Genealogical Library, will speak about the War of 1812. Gary has long been a favorite speaker and his programs are always fact-filled, entertaining and educational. Program begins at 1:00 pm, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hwy 525 & Woodard Road, Freeland.     The Eastside Genealogical Society general meeting will be held (7 to 9 pm) at the Redmond Public Library, 15990 NE 85th, Redmond. Sarah�s presentation, �Non-Population Census Schedules�, will include the Agriculture; Mortality; Defective, Dependent, Delinquent Classes; Industry and Manufacturing; Social Statistics; and Veterans Schedules. The term �non-population� is somewhat misleading because it implies that the information is not personal or genealogically important. Not true. These schedules include names of individuals and information not found in other records. Doors open at 6:30 pm for networking. Visitors are always welcome. Suzi Freeman and Linda Packard will help you with ways you can leave your legacy. You will write about not only the special events in your life but the everyday happenings.     The Washington State Genealogical Society 2013 Conference will be held in Yakima, Washington. Theme is �Researching Rare Apples On Your Family Tree.�  Keynote speaker will be Bret Petersen, board member of the Utah Genealogical Society, graduate of the National Institute of Genealogical Research and member of the Genealogical Speakers Guild. Hosted by the Yakima Valley Genealogical Society.

  • 6-8 Sep 2013 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, England
    The Halsted Trust Genealogical Conference will present "Exodus: Movement of the People," the story of migration from, to and within the British Isles. It will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 through Sunday, September 8, 2013, at the Hinckley Island Hotel, Watling Street, Hinckley, Leicestershire, England LE10 3JA. The conference lectures will be aimed at family historians interested in the theme of British Migration from, to and within the British Isles. The conference lectures and after dinner talks are expected to feature nationally and internationally known genealogical speakers but the organisers also plan on some new talks and subjects that have not been presented before.
