DAR Scholarships
 

DAR SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2012-2013

 DAR SPONSORSHIP IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THE FOLLOWING SCHOLARSHIPS

These scholarships are open to students without any DAR affiliation. Applicants must be citizens of the United States and must attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States.

The Richard and Elizabeth Dean scholarship for $5,000 each year. This general scholarship is available for up to 4 years.

The Caroline E. Holt scholarship for $1,000 to a nursing student.

Occupational/Physical Therapy scholarship for $1,000. This includes art, music, or physical therapy.

The Irene and Daisy MacGregor memorial scholarship for $1,000. Available for those who wish to become a medical doctor or a nurse who is pursuing a psychiatric degree at the masters level.  There is a preference for females if equally qualified.

The Dr. Francis Anthony Beneventi medical scholarship for up to $5,000. 

THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS AVAILABLE TO DAR MEMBERS ONLY 

The Madeline Pickett (Halbert) Cogswell nursing scholarship for $1,000. Applicants must be members, descendants of members or be eligible for membership in NSDAR. DAR member number must be on application. 

DAR INDIAN SCHOLARSHIPS 

This award of $1,000 is intended to help Native American students of any age, any tribe, in any state striving to get an education.  This will be awarded to both university/college students and technical school students.  All awards are judged based on financial need and academic achievement.  Proof of American Indian blood is required.
