   Dr. BECK is our authority that rumor reports J. DURR of Kittitas drowned in the Yakima River.
   E. P. BOYLES, Esq., is in town late from Peshastin mines.  He is jubilant over mining
prospects.

KITTITAS AGENCY
We have appointed J. H. NAYLOR our agent for Kittitas Valley.  He is authorized to solicit
and receipt for all subscriptions to the Record.  All our other agencies are recinded.

NOTICE OF PROOF
Land Office, Yakima, W. T., July 7th 1882
Notice is hereby given that the following named settler has filed notice of his intention to
make final proof in support of his claim, and secure final entry thereof at this office
August 22, 1882.  David WHEATEN, homestead application 390 and 1700 Walla Walla series, for
the w 1/2, uw 1/4, and w 1/2, of section 34, township 17 north, range 19 east, and names the
following as witnesses, viz:  J. W. McDONALD, A. A. MEADE, E. W. LYENS, and John HOLTZ, all
of Ellensburg, W. T. Postoffice.

the following as his witnesses, viz:  Frederick LODI, Frederick ESSIGE, Robert WALLACE and
Clement SHFE, all of Ellensburg, W. T.
