IN TOWN
   That noted "rustler" and business man, Geo. F. SMITH, of Ellensburg, was in town on Wednesday.  He informs
us as soon as he returns from The Dalles he will put on a saddle train from Seattle to Ellensburg for the
accomodation of passengers.  This he will run till the completion of the wagon road.

THE WAY TO DO
   Last year, the SMITH Brothers, of Kittitas Valley, made $4,000 worth of butter, and made about 80,000 pounds
of pork, to say nothing of their large cattle business.

GOING ABOVE
   Dr. TAYLOR, the dentist, who has been with us all winter, will on or about the 20th, leave for Ellensburg.
Those in need of his services had better call soon.

FOR THE DALLES
   Geo. SMITH, of Kittitas, drove through the 'Gap' below town, 200 head of fine beef steers on Thursday.
They are for the Portland markets, and were consigned to Ben SNIPES at The Dalles.

FOR SALE
   W. S. CROUCH, of Ellensburg, offers for sale a span of work horses, harness and wagon at a bargain, if
called for soon.

STRAYED OR STOLEN
   From the ranch of H. POLLINGTON, one roan horse, (description).  Any person giving information... will be
well rewarded.  And any person returning said horse to SHOUDY & STEWART, Ellensburg, W. T., will receive

This new route is now open to the traveling public,
and the U. S. mail line has recently been changed to it.
An eating station has been put up at Cottonwood Springs.
It is the nearest route to Kittitas Valley by twelve miles over all other routes.
