   Frank BOSSONG is looking after his interests in Waterville this week.
   Mr. MOFFITT and family have arrived in the city from Kansas, and will remain some time.
   A very pleasant progressive euchre party was given last week by Mr. and Mrs. McCANDLESS.
   Mr. A. H. STULFOUTH and wife, of San Francisco, have arrived in Ellensburgh and will make this their future home.
   Ex-Auditor W. H. PETERSON contemplates a visit to his old home in West Virginia, after an absence of many years.  He will return in about
two months.
   Mr. and Mrs. ROSS, of the Sandwich Islands, have arrived in the city, with a view to taking up their residence here...

CAPITOLIANS
   The New Era will hereafter be known as the Washington State Register.
   Mr. BAKER is figuring on a brick block to grace the corner of Pine and Third.
   The old Masonic building has been moved from Fourth to Third street, above Pine.
   It is said Nelson BENNETT designs buildings on his Third street lots, adjoining his store.
   Some of the galena ore has been discovered within thirty miles of Ellensburgh, within the past week.
   Mr. MAXEY is arranging for construction of a brick building on Pine street, near BENNETT's store.
   Mr. GEDDIS is excavating the cellar for his fine residence on Seventh street, between Ruby and Sprague.
   Mr. NASH is completing the foundation for the extension of the opera house.  This will make the building 60x120 feet.
   Mr. CARUTHERS, the lumber dealer on Third street designs putting up a fine residence on his lots in Grand View addition.
   John B. FOGARTY, the Third street ??? merchant, will erect a two story ??? 32x120, and is now placing the ??? ??? the ground.
   Jas. ADDLER's child had an arm broken by the wind slamming a door shut recently while the family were in the country visiting Mrs. PAYNER.
   There will be a teacher's meeting on Saturday, 25th, at the public school building, conducted by Supt. McDOWELL and assisted by
Miss McBRIDE.
   LLOYD Bros. are receiving and storing goods in their new building on the corner of Third and Pine streets...
   There were ten births in Ellensburgh last week and several wards still to hear from...
   The Ellensburgh, Columbia River & Eastern Railway Co. have been granted right of way through the city, and cross-sectioning and grading
was commenced on Friday.
   Prof. REED has been employed by the music loving citizens of Ellensburgh for another year...
   Mr. LEONHARD is getting up plans and specifications for a magnificent brick building to occupy the corner now covered by the Oriental
Hotel...
   While A. A. GAUSS was coupling some cars in the yard Tuesday, his left hand was caught between the casting and draw-bar, smashing a finger
on the left hand.  Drs. NEWLAND and McCAULEY were called upon to amputate the finger.
   Richard W. SEE, who was confined to the Ellensburg jail for attempted murder, was taken out on requisition on Saturday, and in the
company with officers from Los Angeles, was taken back to California for the murder of a rancher near Los Angeles years ago.
   The ministers of the city have received invitations to participate in the dedication of the new Baptist Church on Sunday...
   The brick is on the ground for Mr. ELLIOTT's new two-story building on Fifth street, and workmen are engaged in digging the foundation.
It will have a frontage on Fifth street of 47 feet, and will contain two store rooms, while the second story will be divided up into rooms,
one of which 26x36, will be used as a club and reading room.

PESHASTAN GOLD
   Mr. DONAHUE, who is running an arastra in Peshastan, brought down sixteen ounces of gold, on Tuesday.  He reports the mine looking well,
with three feet of solid sulpheret ore in the bottom of the shaft, but says water is scarcer than he has known it in many years, and thinks
work will have to suspend on the arastra.

   The vote in Kittitas county for delegates to the Constitutional Convention, stands as follows:  PETERSON, 540; McDONALD, 655; SHOUDY, 635;
and MIRES 710.

WENATCHEE ITEMS
   Mrs. CALWELL's boarding house is full, but there will soon be room for all.
   CALWELL went fishing and caught 100 trout in Mission Creek in two hours.
   Mrs. William MIERS of Squill creek died on Wednesday morning of typhus fever.
   Mr. PAUL starts East in a few days to see his daughter, who is lying at the point of death.
