 She was the first woman doctor in Clarke County and possibly Washington Territory. She was the only doctor in town for years and delivered many babies in and around Camas, Washougal and even as far away as Yacolt and Mount Norway. At her untimely death she was buried at Fern Prairie Cemetery. See her obituary in 1913 for more information.

The picture above is possibly a wedding picture of Lewis Van Vleet and Elizabeth Coffey. The picture below is of Lewis Van Vleet during his later years. Elizabeth died in 1905 and Lewis in 1910.

Picture above is of James Knox Polk Jones and his wife Harrett. Notice her pipe! They both died in 1917 and are buried in Fern Prairie Cemetery.
