Mission Statement

As President of Eastern Washington Genealogical Society, I am glad you are visiting our web site and hope that you will take advantage of what we have to offer. Established in 1935, our goal and objective is to preserve genealogical records and the public access to them. We encourage members to use the genealogical holdings that are in the Spokane Main Public Library and we will continue to acquire and donate genealogical publications to the library for use by members and the public.

There are volunteers to help you with your research on Tuesdays and Saturdays on the 3rd floor of the library in the genealogical section. We have monthly internet educational classes as well as have annual workshops and seminars covering a variety of genealogical interests. We are always extracting records that will be of help to many. Currently we are indexing the Patchen Obituary Files. Please check out our Calendar of Events and links listed on this site for the latest in what EWGS has to offer.
