Czech Slovak Giving Thanks Potluck

Sure had a wonderful time eating and networking!!! Below is a picture of those that attended. You can find addittional pictures on our Facebook Page - Czech-Slovak Genealogy Interest Group. The food was wonderful, The fellowship was neat and big thank you to Fraternal Czech Lodge #181 members and others who helped set up!! What efficiency! And them those who stayed later to clean up a big thank you, also!!!

This was VICTORIA HANSONs first meeting. She is researching the names Kostelak and Krizek! She and Bettelinn are both researching Krizek!! These names are from New York City. This was ED SCHULAs first meeting also! Ed is researching Shula, Cech, Kriz, Waclaw, Mraz, Fanta, and Baxa from the Chicago area and Koryta and Planice in Bohemia. CONNIE WARD came from Tacoma for her first meeting, too, with her cousin KATHY EVANS. They are researching Karpach, Karpak/Karpac. Their research in the US is in Menominee, Michigan and Tacoma WA. Places in Slovakia are Rakovec nad Ondavou, Michalovce, Remeniny, and Giraltovce.

Connie told us about the mystery surrounding her grandfathers death in Tacoma and the great tips that have helped her get this far in her research. What a story. Bettelinn added that there is an Oregon Trail Association that has a list of folks who came on the Oregon Trail, considering that is involved in Connies story.

Sorry it has taken me so long to send this! At least it is before Christmas! And I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and successful researching in 2015!!!!!

Happy researching,

Rosie Bodien
