Sept. 21 Interest Group Meeting Report!

Welcome to new members Mary Kizer and Marla Wood who are researching Slovakian roots!! They shared their challenges with the group.

Bob and Gladys Shipek brought a beautiful old velvet album with many UNLABELED pictures. What a treasure!

Jacqueline Buresh-Medina shared that the new metro trains would be from Bohemia! I know that Portland has Bohemian streetcars that come with three Czechs to service them!

We hope we have Mary Trimingham, Joan Heath, and Cheri Trnka- Smith motivated to get back to researching their lines.

Julie Peschek told about the Rootsweb Seminar in Kent Sept. 7.

Mara brought her beautiful cepice (headdress) and a child's vest to share. Lovely!

Greg Schrader from the Bellevue-Kladno Sister City Association came with Kalab, a Kladno City employee, to tell use about the association.

NEXT MEETINGS:

NOVEMBER 16, JANUARY 25

Wednesday I leave for the Czech Republic, so this is a short report. I still have to pack and get organized for the trip!

In a separate email I will send out the information for sending flood donation relief money. The address is still at my dad's. Also will send out the info for the Czech bakery in West Seattle.

Happy researching!!!! Rosie
