Our Computers, Film Reader, Readerware and other equipment!

In April 2003, Margaret Colf Hepola and the Colf Family Foundation presented CCGS with a $5000 donation with which to purchase new equipment for our library. We desperately needed new computers as all the old ones were no longer adequate for our use.

By clicking below, you can see Margaret with her family at the Open House, Thank You celebration which was held at the library September 28, 2003. Jane Germann was chairman.

The three computers are the Dell brand with lots of nice features and
especially lots of RAM and GHZ. The updated networking systems ties them all together for using our new library cataloging program. (We decided on Dell because the price for the three computers was over $1000 less than the next bid from another well-known manufacturer.) Pictures of all three of the computers are below.

In addition to the computers and networking hub and cables, we also purchased a new microfilm reader which is pictured below. Other items we purchased with the donation, thanks to some very frugal shopping, were two 32mb mini drives for transporting information between computers; a barcode scanner and stand for the scanner; Norton's AntiVirus programs and updating subscription for four computers and last but not least - the Readerware program for cataloging our books.

We invite you to try them out when you next visit our library.
